Trump Indictment Watch

I too find it funny Trump is days away from defaulting. But of course these are Trump lawyers saying this so they are probably lying.
 
454 million bond was never attainable for anyone.

In a suit where no one was harmed AKA no victims awaiting damage money the 8th amendment applies here.

I doubt even a third of this holds up and is likely overturned completely on appeal at some point.
 
Probably not a good idea for his lawyer to go on TV saying he has plenty of cash and would have no issue paying the bond. If the issue is liquidity then he has had several months to prepare for this. There was the initial judgement plus Trump spent the whole trial saying he would be found guilty so he cant really claim the verdict caught him by surprise and hasnt had time to liquify assets. Its not shocking that with his history of not paying and deceiving lenders that no one wants to deal with him. Gonna be hard to win an appeal when he cant post the bond required to get the appeal in the first place. But lets remember who we are dealing with here, Trump very well may be lying and end up posting the bond.
 
No carrier will sport the bond. Thats why they set it at that amount.

That would be over half the largest bond carriers premium volume. No one is giving out that bond.

The lender is on record saying they were satisfied and would do business again. Not sure how they felt deceived.
 
The amount was set based on the governments expert witness estimate of the amount Trump saved by deceiving DB of the risk level of the loan. It was anything but arbitrary. Trump claimed to have 400 million in cash so he shouldnt even need a bonding company to pay the entire amount. He could also seek a loan from a bank as that restriction was temporarily removed. If DB is so happy with their loan I dont see whats stopping them from giving him another one. That they wont tells me all I need to know. Publicly throwing Trump under the bus and saying they felt deceived by him would have resulted in MAGA throwing a hissy fit and Trump leading a boycott against them which would have been very bad for buisness. You cant deny thats how that would have played out if they said they felt wronged by Trumps actions on the loan.

So I suppose if you yourself are sued by someone, I can expect you will sell your house and much of your assets "just in case."

You care an awful lot about protecting people's rights until it comes to someone you don't like.

If I know I am going to lose, which Trump kept stating every chance he got that he was in his opinion going to lose because the Judge was so biased against him, then I would begin making preparations ASAP.



I dont for a second agree Trump has had any rights violated but if I agreed I love to see people who abuse the rights of others get the table turned on them. I remind you that Donald Trump routinely used the threat of frivolous defamation suits to censor people who suffer financial hardship by having to hire a lawyer. And now you want me to feel sorry for this guy? I dont think so. Do you remember the Central Park 5? Donald Trump took out a full page ad in the newspaper advocating for their execution. When they were exonerated did he call for prosecution of the corrupt cops and prosecutor? No, he said execute them anyways. This is the same guy who told cops to bump peoples heads on the top of the car when taking them away. So spare me. He isnt a victim.

LMAO. Yes that's totally plausible.

It isn't reasonable that anyone should be expected to "make preparations" before a judgement has been made.
 
Well shucks, I guess he is just going to have to suffer the consequences. I wonder what property the state will go after first to pay off his debt. I am guessing Trump Tower. Probably have to rename it though. I was thinking Peekaboo Tower.

This amount of a bond has rarely been done before. The law has never been used this way before to get someone for fraud either.

It was done to intentionally destroy a political rival

Pretty much the way banana republics work.

New York's legal system and its people in it better hope Trump doesn't win this election.

Nearly every legal scholar who isn't a left wing extremist says the same thing I'm saying.
