Uggla released; Pasotornicky called up

Hope he can figure it out somewhere and make a comeback. He was tough to watch, but, he was a good guy and nearly always gave it his all, he just didn't have it anymore. Tough move from the Braves on a personal standpoint, but, it is the right move.
I couldn't have said it better.

If Dan latches on with some other club on a minor league deal and hits .260/.360/.480 in August and September, I swear to God I am murdering someone. Just flat killing someone in cold blood.

I think the chances of that happening are less than the chances of peace in the Middle East.

I'll hate the baseball gods forever if he somehow winds up owning us in the future.

But I'm not going to bash him anymore. I wish him the best of luck. It was right for both us and him to move on.

But what a cocked up circus to get to this point. Just release him last week so Gosselin's not on the escalator.

I would guess Cunningham or Reyes until they can recall Gossellin.

Yeah. The whole thing about adding Gosselin to the 40 man and then sending him back down suggests that they kind of were hoping even last week to find a way to get out from under at least a small part of Uggla's salary.

Uggla's play and continued presence on the roster lessened my fan experience, and he was paid massively (and will continue to be). I don't really have any sympathy. If he finds it too upsetting, I guess he can just go buy a car, or swap STDs with a porn star, or whatever.

Dear Dan: I was so excited when we traded for and then extended you....a rock solid, consistent RH power source in the middle of our lefty-heavy lineup. Oh, what promise the future held...Marlins fans hung Jeff Loria in effigy because he wouldn't give you that fifth year...Braves fans rejoiced when Wren locked you in...just as we did when he dealt for budding star Nate McLouth.

Then you ****ing lost it. Completely. Thanks a lot, pudwanker.

I'm not worried about him going .360/.480 for somebody else. I'm worried about him killing somebody on the road.

Tyler Pastornicky called up from Gwinnett, I would imagine until Gosselin can return.

That would be my thoughts, but it's hard to say with our front office. I like Pastor, but It's time to start moving on with players. Let's see what Gosselin does. We give Tommy a shot and he only hits .292 in his first couple months of service.
