Unpopular Opinion Thread

Crossfit is good. The question will be in 30 years is a lot of the **** they make you do dangerous. I think they've stopped a lot of the really sketchy things I remember like Jumping Squats with a barbell. But there are still some that can be risky like Sumo Deadlift High Pulls (rough on knees) Kipping Pullups (so many things if you do them wrong can go wrong, even doing it right it's a nightmare on the shoulders) and snatching for speed. Snatch is an olympic lift and doing them quickly poses risks for injury.

But for the most part, if you're smart, you'll be fine. Crossfit's upper management is cringy though.

Their upper management has pretty much turned over in the last year.

No one is jumping with a barbell, ever.

The human body was designed to do all those things competently. If you weren't doing CF you likely couldn't do any of those things in 30 years anyway.

I've been teaching for 4 years, doing CF for 6 in April and Ive seen one legit injury when girls shoulder popped out. That could have happened anywhere at any time.

I really like the baseline testing with workouts of different types to test strengths and weaknesses. Athletes are all different.

Yeah it's a thing. I think originally it's a rugby exercise. I think it's very old. I think they killed it maybe 8 years ago? Could be wrong.

The issue is that kipping pullups are a violent motion. I consider it like pitching. It's not just going to ruin you, but it can easily get overbearing.

You're not wrong that for the most part people are safe and OK. It's at the competition level where things get dicey.

Man a military funeral is an impressive thing. Say what you want about the military, but they get their ceremonies RIGHT

I don’t think that was ever a foundational movement that was programmed by main site.

Competition level is fine. Those people are THE fittest people in the world .

Those documentaries on Netflix and Amazon are actually really entertaining

Derek chauvin won’t be found guilty of murder, but he’ll be overcharged in manslaughter and found guilty. Of course, massive riots will happen.

Other than Opera Man and the Hanukkah song, Adam Sandler is not funny. Both those were comedy gold.

The entirety of Billy Madison is gold. Billy Madison is brilliant, and how can you not love the stupidity of the waterboy? The latter 2 films were carried by their great ensemble casts.

Also while Chris Farley outshined him, how can you not laugh your ass off during Lunch Lady Land or their Zagat's reading sketch.

I will springboard off your unpopular opinion to one of my own. Airheads is one of if not the most underrated film of the 90s. Which features Michael Richards, who starred in the most underrated film of the 80s, UHF.

100% fresh is one of the most unique and brilliant comedy performances of the last 20 years.
