Unpopular Opinion Thread

The entirety of Billy Madison is gold. Billy Madison is brilliant, and how can you not love the stupidity of the waterboy? The latter 2 films were carried by their great ensemble casts.

Also while Chris Farley outshined him, how can you not laugh your ass off during Lunch Lady Land or their Zagat's reading sketch.

I will springboard off your unpopular opinion to one of my own. Airheads is one of if not the most underrated film of the 90s. Which features Michael Richards, who starred in the most underrated film of the 80s, UHF.

I haven't watched any of his movies. I'm sure there are some I might like.

Mayonnaise is a jello people spread on sandwiches that don’t know better . The end

Mayonnaise on it's own is lame. But throw some hotsauce and some maple syrup and mix it up for, you got yourself some nice Aioli knockoff with half the work.

Also Mayo is an important part of any good burger sauce so that's a thing.

Ive read where a gourmet grilled cheese is done with mayo instead of butter. Any truth to this? Seems like demon worship to me.

I've tinkered with them. There's advantages to both. Grilled cheese with butter tastes better, because butter tastes better than mayo. But the reason a lot of chef types like to use mayo is 2 fold. It has a higher smoke point which means it's easier to seer without burning. So some people like that when they're making thick grilled cheeses or they're a fool who likes cooking over campfire. Second reason is spread. If you don't have butter at room temperature, spreading it on your grilled cheese sucks. And yes you can melt and put it on that way, but then you have the issue of your initial barrier of butter that lets your cheese melt is gone. So Mayo is a very easy way to get full bread coverage on a grilled cheese without melting of leaving butter out to soften. Mayo doesn't lend much flavor to the grilled cheese in the end, which is why I prefer butter, and the flavor it adds is mediocre. But I will admit, I wasn't using like really good mayo for my experiments. It was Hellman's.
