Uribe and KJ to NYM

The only thing I like about this trade is sticking it to the nats. I think the mets ares gonna take the east

We never had a shot this year. We made that clear.

we turned callaspo, kJ and ian thomas into 1 WAR out of Uribe plus winthrow, Walen and Gant. Keeping both guys makes us maybe win a handful of games we don't need to win.

If we really want either guy back we can get them back in a couple of months. But ideally we are looking to upgrade if we are legit players in 2017.

I'd love elite guys, but if the Braves gave up a top 25 prospect for this package we'd all go nuts.

This is a really astute post, but it's pointless to try and act rationally around here. Same thing happens every time. An officially announced transaction results in a board meltdown and spleen-letting from all of the Usual Suspects.

So I guess everyone is supposed to fall in line and praise everything this team does irregardless, and if they don't, well then we must be spleen-letting dumb asses. Nice.
 
Then what's the big rush for a Peraza call-up? Is there something wrong with him finishing out the IL season, raking, and building confidence?

Im not downplaying it, doesnt seem like a good trade but again im just not sure what more you can expect for a utility guy and a 35-36 yr old 3B whose a pending FA.
 
There's really no such thing as a 'lost season' for a team that is actively rebuilding. You grow out talent, shuffle pieces, figure out the mettle of your core. If the Braves had a clear spot for Peraza he'd be up already. That changes if Maybin is traded.

I understand 'irregardless' more than I understand 'spleen-letting' (which still isn't clear to me).

Personally, "irregardless" is amongst my top-five most-hated malapropisms; really it's probably number-one.

Spleen-letting is based in Galenic humors, and it makes a lot of sense within that system: you gotta vent that black-bile, son.
