What's next?

I'd guess we trade Markakis. Also, I HOPE we trade Markakis. I can't see us moving Teheran without someone else severely overpaying.

The addition of Inciarte could make Markakis available, especially with an outfield of Oliver, Bourn and Swisher. Inciarte probably plays everyday somewhere out there. But, would need at least one more flexible OF since Bourn and Swisher both have vesting options that won't vest.
 
I got laughed at before but I'd move Olivera to 2b. A lot of evaluators said they thought he could do it.

I just don't see anyone taking markakis. I'd flip the ss and play jace at ss. Markakis in lf and mallex in cf.

I assume we will trade CB next
 
I hope Julio is not traded while his value is low.

CB is gone, either traded or claimed on waivers.

Markakis is probably on the block now too. They could start the year with an OF of Olivera, Inciarte, and Markakis, and then trade one of them at the deadline when/if Mallex is ready.

I would like to see them sign Latos to a 1 year deal.

They will also get some more help in the BP.
 
Markakis should be gone, he'd be an ideal fit for a team like KC if they dont keep Gordon.

I figure Bethancourt gets moved for a low minor leaguer with some ceiling to free up a spot on the 40-man for a possible Rule 5 pick.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Markakis moved as well.

My guess is Teheran stays unless the team is bowled over by an offer.
 
I'd guess CB is traded tomorrow. Roster will be at 41 once the ARI trade is announced. So need to do some work to clear two spots (one for Rule 5 on Friday).

I don't see that happening, don't expect a major haul from anyone. Certainly don't expect LuCroy unless other prospects are involved, although you never know, brewers seem high on CB. That's one of the reasons I hated the Wood Olivera trade. I think a Wood, Peraza, CB package for LuCroy would have worked and netted us our long term solution at our biggest position of need.

That makes me think we get very little for em.
 
I'd keep Teheran and let him try to regain the form he had in 2014, his value is probably its lowest and we have like 47 million in committed payroll for 2017 so why trade him now? If we can trade Markakis we could go in to next offseason with a payroll of ~36 million, that is nuts!

My worry is next years free agent class is crap in comparison to this year... wish we would have all that free money this offseason.
