What's Not Nailed Down: Whither, and for what?

Great thread.

I'm one of the few (or the only) that wanted the Braves to acquire him even before the Kimbrel trade.

Almost. I and thou, brah.

He's my favorite Brave not from Curacao, but I'd deal him for the right return.

Yea, I thought you were his biggest supporter as you suggested him when he was DFA'd. I like Maybin too, I was more hoping for something like CJ plus a prospect for Maybin deal but that probably wasn't realistic.

You really have an infatuation with lazy, black outfielders.

When it comes to the non-rentals, I'm hoping to see Grilli and Maybin traded. Markakis too, but that one's a pipe dream. I'm fine with Grilli's production and it's a decent contract, but I think the return will likely be worth going back to the drawing board for a closer next year. Even with some regression from his current numbers, Maybin's bat plays fine in CF. I've just been a little disappointed in his defense. We'd be smart to move him while he's healthy and hitting well, even if it means sending a little 2015 money to broker a deal.

If someone came to us in desperate need of an SP, I would listen on any of our top 3 guys. It's unlikely and would need to be a CLEAR win to make a deal.

Maybe we can just grizzle some of the core guys and call it good.

I don't move Maybin until we get a better handle on Mallex Smith. Maybin is reasonably priced and is hitting well. While I don't think he's ever going to be what would be called a true power hitter, he does provide needed punch in a line-up that is woefully short on that. If we're knocked over by an offer, go ahead and move him, but I like what I've seen and I just don't think we move the guy simply because he may not fit into the 2017 blueprint.
