Where will the next war front be?

I don't know, why should you?

i don't think i should care if consenting adults want to do something, i don't care if 3 people want to get married or whatever. i am trying to figure out why i should care about that in a society where we are supposed to be "Free" to make our own choices

I don't support the government mandating a church to perform same sex marriages. That violates the separation of church and state, anyway.

To be clear, the people in that article are not running a church, they are running a for-profit business. That said, I still don't think they should be compelled to perform marriages that go against their faith; it's an interesting legal question, though, and highlights an inherent problem of trying to make your faith into a business.

I wouldn't say that.

My comment was directed at goldfly for saying that I didn't know him, after I said that he wasn't the religious type. So now I'm wondering if he is, after that comment he made.

Toma, I am not going to speak for Goldfly, but back on the Scout board I ask him a similar question about religion/spirituality and I think his response was that a life changing event shook his faith in religion and made him the person he is today, very cynical.

By his posting patterns he is more like a Libertarian than either Liberal or Conservative and basically a person that runs his life the way he wants while thumbing his nose at everyone else. I kind of respect that type of person unlike some sheeple we have on here.

Dalyn is similar but less confrontational but cynical as well but he does it in way to not make you mad at him.

Ummm, let me see if I can log unto the Scout board and see if it is still there. I deleted all my PM's so I can't go there. You said something to the effect of something happened in your life that has change your perspective of religion. Not totally quoted per se, but you did say that. Maybe I didn't convey it in the correct way, but you had something profound happen (you did not say the event nor would I push for something that private) to be cynical and you have every right to be that way. I respect a person like you and have their own beliefs but I do not respect people who try to shove their beliefs down my throat, ahem, and there are several on this board that does it because they don't "like" when you are not like them, think like them, or be like them. And it is both sides that do it. No slinging schit at anyone, just saying.

I don't think I can log in and they wiped most of the information in there in regards to anything controversial.

G

It's interesting that on a message board where you have no trouble posting all your other opinions and beliefs, that your religion/spirituality is something you refuse to share

i don't share a lot about me but cool that you find that interesting

not really sure why you are hammering about "votes" now

just cause you can get enough people to think their agenda that goes against the rights of others, doesn't mean it should happen. thankfully the courts doesn't always go with the "majority" and actually looks at making sure everyone is treated equal under the law

I'm not hammering about votes. I'm saying they are fairly irrelevant now with the actions/inactions of courts. I don't think votes are going to affect this matter of SSM and being able to operate within the public arena without giving assent to it from this point on.

Why does that bother you?

Agreed. Wonder if and how the Hobby Lobby case will factor in.
