The big issue Democrats are dealing with right now is infighting between liberals and leftists. Liberals tend to back the party and its candidates no matter what (“glass of water with a D”) but leftists are more likely to hold out unless the party takes strong stances on things like Gaza, trans rights, or Bernie-style socialism. This creates a lot of friction because Democrats rely on a coalition of these two groups, especially after essentially giving up on winning over the white male vote.

Take Kamala Harris, for example. A lot of leftists were upset with her for not disavowing Israel, and it became pretty common to hear people calling Biden and Harris “genociders.” Sure, they’d still grudgingly say, “At least they’re not Trump,” but that’s not exactly the kind of enthusiasm that gets people to the polls.

Now, it looks like some liberals—think Bill Maher types—might be ready to ditch the far-left wing of the party. The thinking seems to be that cutting ties with the extreme left could help win back moderate voters, like the blue dogs, and ultimately make the party stronger in the long run.

The problem is, it might already be too late to win back this generation of white men. Years of being sidelined by Democratic messaging and cultural shifts may have pushed them firmly into the Republican camp.

That’s the problem. Academia is firmly in anarcho-communism la la land. That’s a lost cause. The Democrat Party gives too much weight to the progressive and leftist side of the party.
 
Democrats have no activist base to actually campaign or GOTV without lunatic leftist base. They are screeded for a generation. Hispanics willlnkt go back to the party of annoying women and pussy men.

What’s your metric for people leaving the R party? Your disgusting side has tried lying for almost a decade now and all it’s led to was the strongest performance with non whites for a Republican candidate in decades. Great job!

my metric is the GOP was once ( in my lifetime} the party of college grads.
mathametitions and engineers etc
not so musch any longer.

Made up now of grasscutters and housewashers.
And of course an influx of what y'all call

I’m also not even sure if what you say is true about voting patterns of highly educated people were historically. I’ll just give you the benefit of the doubt.

While your party continues to talk about men beating up women in sports and what your pronouns are don’t ever expect masculine men and the women who love them to ever vote for you again.

Cenk has his blindspots but Young Turks is one of the best left-wing independent media out there. I don't know that there is an equivalent to them on the right.
