Why Do Liberals Hate 'American Sniper'?

From the article:

There’s nothing ineffable in Islam that produces “terrorism.”

So is this article making the case that the Koran doesn't have verses which intimate the use of violence?

I think you'll be able to answer that when you read the full article.

It focuses on history.

Beyond a fringe, Muslims don’t regard al-Qaeda-ISIS as a legitimate form of resistance to imperialism. On the contrary, many see al-Qaeda-ISIS as the spawn of US–Saudi imperialism.

And this type of statement is backed up by what exactly?

The article does not address this at all. Its been shown countless times that Koran has many violent verses.

It addresses it that 99+% of muslims reject the idea of terrorism.

I'm asking you to read about the history and take off your hatred glasses for one second to try to understand things that have happened for years. Instead you're looking for any excuse to get hung up and discredit.

That article is just one of many that have done the same exact thing. We know the history and we know the missteps. Everyone agrees we have made mistakes so what new information are you bringing to the table right now?

Again, do you think that this form of ideology would not exist had the US and West never bothered with the Middle East?

no, not at all actually

the document that conservatives say they love was a radical as **** document when written.

western society is a liberal idea

I know it's not worth getting into this with you so I won't bother, but you're incorrect.

If you think the definition of liberal hasn't changed over the last three or so centuries, I can't help you.

whatever you say ace

however you want to change the word liberal

doesn't change it to embody the term "conservative" in anyway

What I've derived from the past two pages of this thread:

1 - thethe really didn't read the link.
2 - It's about history!
3 - goldfly continues to make bizarre and unsubstantiated claims about global politics and Christianity - buzzword radical.

Then 'some people' that you supposedly know ... are stupid.

Oops, autocorrect.

But while we are on the subject of making bourgeois overtures: 'Not' and 'Said' and 'It's' should be capitalized ... and two missing periods -- what's your point?

that you you used the word stupid and then used the wrong word

if you really wanted to break down my comment, the first comment should be that it wasn't a sentence

not really sure why you are getting worked up over this. i live in Georgia, do you really think I don't know some religious folks?

where are these bizarre etc claims you mention?

I didn't technically use the wrong word, but whatever.

And I did call attention to your non-period usage -- that there was no sentence was implicit.

Why does everybody keep assuming that I'm worked up? I'm drinking coffee in my pajamas and listening to William Orbit.

You are the one on the (pseudo) Grammar Nazi defensive. Which is like Level A trolling.

But I guess back to my original point: I don't believe your friends are smart if they truly believe that members of ISIS 'fell far from God.'

not really a grammer nazi. just like to point out "your" and "you're" when it comes from someone saying someone else is stupid

again, not my friends.

some of the same said that we shouldn't have been cheering and rallying when we killed Osama (i agree with them on that)
