Woman's March

Women's March is against the shutdown of backpages. If you needed more reason to understand just how stupid this movements leadership is

My daughter is one of the relatively small group of women with degrees in computer science. She graduated with very high departmental honors from a very good university near Silicon Valley three years ago. I recently asked her if she ever considered working there. And she gave a non-verbal answer that was the equivalent of are you kidding me. Too bad. Silicon Valley is losing out when it comes to her and other talented women like her. There is a problem there with the culture when it comes to women.

Maybe it’s not as bad there as she thinks. She could had gotten a few job offers for all she knows.

oh quite a few of her classmates ended up there...she ended up doing fine...came back to the east coast, which I was happy about

Are you talking about FOSTA? Perhaps they meant that individuals could make decisions instead of government stepping in on people’s personal lives. That used to be the main feminist position before some started wanting to use the government against men.

I thought this data was interesting... This is a mssive initiative at my company and I suspect many others... but it seems like women just don't want to code.

Although on second look, we may not have given the current efforts to increase female interest in coding enough time to show in the data.

I don't remember when it started... but it seems fairly recent, so that wouldn't necessarily reflect in college-aged girls until a few years from now

Basic coding should really be mandatory in schools by this point. Even if the coding language you learn is useless or out of date I think its a great way to teach important concepts and problem solving. We should be introducing this to kids very early in school imo. I learned C++ in high school but it was an elective.
