:Wren capitulates, promotes Gosselin to satisfy bloodthirsty Chop Country mob.

BTW, CHucky T helped Braves land Tim Hudson back in the day. He was Moneyball's bust, not ours.

I think Meyer and Cruz were what they actually wanted since we wouldn't give them Giles. Plus wasn't Huddy going into FA with the A's knowing they had no shot at signing him? Meyer was a pretty good prospect to acquire at the time for a team that didn't have a lot of leverage though.

It says Braves Twitter writer Dan Simpson confirmed that Uggla was notified of his DFA tonight.

Don't know how reliable that is.

Also, DOB speculating pretty strongly that it is Uggla.

Bowman said he doesn't think it's Uggla.

Could be a pitcher before the break. Send down someone. From the bench only Doumit and Schafer are cuttable but Schafer won't be cut for someone who's an IF. Laird is our backup C and starting Lairder, Uggla should be gone as he can play backup 2B poorly. Pena isn't cuttable. unless Pena got hurt, So it's basically one of 4 options. Uggla (makes most sense), Pena or TLS is hurt, Doumit, or a pitcher because we don't think they'll be needed today or for the next 15 days. So do we have a fungible reliever?

This is from roto, i'll believe i when i see it though, it's time though, feel bad for Uggla to see him fall off like this.

The Braves are expected to designate Dan Uggla for assignment prior to Sunday's game.
The club has yet to announce a corresponding move after calling up Phil Gosselin late Saturday, but the expectation is that Uggla will lose his roster spot. It's possible that he'll be traded, but either way the Braves figure to DFA him first. The move is long overdue, as Uggla is barely playing anymore, going just 1-for-20 with eight strikeouts since May 23. The Braves had been holding out only because the second baseman is due roughly $19 million through the end of next season. Someone will take a shot on Uggla, but with a .175/.295/.332 batting line since the beginning of last season, it's hard to bet on him turning it around.

Bowman said he doesn't think it's Uggla.

I don't necessarily agree with Bowman about Uggla. If they were sending down a pitcher, why wouldn't they just go ahead and announce that move. Also, why allow Gosselin to play in last night's AAA game at all. He was pinch hit for in that game before getting the call, which leads to believe that perhaps a trade has been completed with Uggla and is not being announced until today.

It's got to be Uggla. The way he's been buried, there was no other way to end this.

It's really not fair to your ball club to play with a short bench for two months. This bench is hitting .1-something.

For Fredi, going to the bench has been like needing a quick lunch, reaching into your pantry and finding a can of beef boullion, some beets, some peas and three cans of kidney beans from that last chili cook-off.

Amazing how you can still make innuendo references to the MissesGuvnuh.

#Braves Uggla has received a 1-game suspension, not sure why yet

WTF

Likely going to be more than a one game thing. Otherwise they would have brought up someone already on the 40 man roster.

I think we should try Schlosserberger at 3b. Dude owns a .894 wOBA this year in the majors. They literally can not get him out! Not sure how his side armn throwing motion would work at 3b but atleast he isn't Chtis Johnson, right guys.
