:Wren capitulates, promotes Gosselin to satisfy bloodthirsty Chop Country mob.

The odd thing is putting Gosselin on the 40 man. If it was a one-game deal, they could have brought up Pastornicky or Elmer Reyes who are already on the 40-man. This makes me suspect Gosselin is up for more than one game. We shall see.

This has to be significant.

They couldn't have brought Pastornicky because he just went on the DL at Gwinnett. But I do agree with the sentiments that this is more than a one day thing for Gosselin. I have never heard of the Braves suspending a player like that for one day. Don't know what it is, but we all know if you don't do things the Braves way you're eventually gone. So I think that maybe during the break you will see the Braves eventually cut ties with Uggla.

Was told by couple of people familiar with situation that #Braves Uggla showed up about an hour before Saturday's 3:05 p.m. game.

Maybe he is trying to get released. I mean, it isn't fair to him either not to allow him a chance to start over instead of wasting away on the bench

He signed a contract. The team has to pay him $13 million a year. They control what happens to him.

Who cares if Uggla showed up mid game. He has been to the plate like twice this month. Chicago is an awesome city. He probably was visiting the Sears Tower. Cut the man some slack.

Sure he did, but he also wants to play. Trying to get released would push the process along. Really not sure what the hold up has been.

I agree he should just be released already. But for the team's benefit, not his. Again, they're paying him $13 million. He has a responsibility.

More than likely that huge contract he hold over them. Not feeling sorry for a guy making that much money to sit on his ass.

I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag. Dan Uggla was interviewing for a job yesterday.

Maybe they will release him after the suspension. By suspendng him one game and then releasing him they atleast get out of paying one game check.

If this was going to be a 1 game thing I would think they would call up a reliever.

DOB tweeted that Fredi expects Uggla to be back with the team Friday. Perhaps he's just saying that right now. Hopefully.

Best just not respond to any of my posts today or you are just being arguementative... Either way we all benefit from it.

I understand all that fully, but players force trades or releases all the time in all sports. Not sure why that concept is foreign.

He would be doing is a huge favor in just forcing our hand. In fact I hope he takes a huge deuce right in the middle of Fredis desk , forcing us to dfa him and restore our team to full 25 man status

Wren is the one that has to pull the trigger here. I think Fredi has said things like this in the past and been wrong. Might be an issue of a grievance if its public knoledge they planned to release him before suspending him.
