Wren "dismissed" --

Bobby and JS say the team has not quit.

Bobby also endorses Fredi, again, as 'outstanding' ... LOL.

Just heard that, I was afraid that with Cox FG wouldn't go any where and as soon as Cox said he thought FG has done an remarkable job I knew I wouldn't be watching Braves baseball next year..😭😭😭😭

J Hart drafted me, J Schuerholz traded 4 me & B Cox coached me. I can personally attest this maybe the best team ever assembled! #LEADERSHIP

Bobby point blank gives Fredi a vote of confidence when asked by Dimino (?)
One could look at this as the "dreaded vote of confidence." What else, other than an endorsement, would Bobby Cox give during a press conference concerning Frank Wren?

It's political. They aren't going to sit up there and trash the man. When he's fired, it'll be a, "You did a great job, but we want to go a different way. It's not you, it's us."

I hope you are right but with Cox involved I'm concerned FG won't go anywhere. Looks like Cox will continue in his "retirement" to keep this team from winning World Series.

OK, I got a chuckle out of this:

"Wait, you're allowed to just FIRE a general manager?!?"-- Phillies

Classy organization. Their not gonna dog their manager. If they did who would wanna come here?

I get that but you don't have to go as far as saying he has done a remarkable job. You can just say all jobs are a part of the process etc. The remarkable comment just concerns me.

The way the question was phrased Cox could've easily responded in less direct terms. He made it clear his support for Fredi is unequivocal.

Did he get a "caliber" in, at least?

He did indeed, when referring to "The Braves Way"

I heard different I guess, other than Bobby and his comments on Fredi. What I heard is that no ringing endorsement of Fredi what so ever. What I heard is that a new GM will have input into who will manage in the future. What I did hear is something I had heard before, that is that Wren did not necessarily get along with nor did he consult with the scouting and lower parts of the organization. What I heard is they looked at the minor league talent level and were concerned that there was not the talent level that the Braves have been know for ever since Bobby's days as GM. I cannot dispute that fact, I endorse that view. We need to return to the days of Paul Snyder like approach to building the system, bottom to top.
I do not think for a second that Fredi Gonzalez is safe after hearing both Johns and that is how it should be. Alas the GM is responsible for the team on the field, the manager has to make those players succeed, but you cannot make gold out of straw, you can only do so much. That said, I am not a fan of Fredi, and do hope we go a different direction in managing the team going forward.

Absolutely! Senior advisor or something like that to Coppolell?

The guy has a wealth of baseball knowledge, and his creditials speak for themselves with the job he did in Cleveland. I give him a free pass in Texas as Hicks was running the show even though Hart took the blame for a lot of the things that happened during that period of time. Remember who was also the manager during that trainwreck, nonother than Buck Showwalter whom I have always liked and he has evolved and become the best manager in the game as of today.

Back to Hart, I've always thought one of his biggest strengths is identifying young talent and being able to decipher and lock up the talent. He also brings respect amongst agents in negotiations which could help someone as young and new to a role like Coppolell will be.

Yeah, he bought Chan Ho Park's agent a boat.

Hart would be a nice counter balance to Coppolella who is apparently a young sabermetrics type.

Then we have to hope that Hart and JS tip the scales. That trio will pick the new GM. I'm sure they'll ask him who he wants as a manager. Hope Hart and JS aren't looking for "Fredi" for the answer to that question.
