**NOT ACTUALLY RACIST
Anyone else watching?

I'm actually looking more forwards to the documentary part of the Randy Savage DVD that comes on the network tomorrow

Lesnar vs. Reigns is about to start. I wonder if Rollins is going to interfere and use his "Money in the Bank" briefcase to become champ.

Wasnt sure if Rollins would cash but once i saw Brock get hit by that pole, i figured he would, smh.

Can't believe the way Sting lost. Other than that the match was awesome.

It makes no sense for the NWO to help Sting. It doubly makes no sense that they didn't turn on him in the end. It would have been amazing if DDP, Flair and/or Goldberg came out though

Sting was in the nWo at one point. And that whole DX nWo thing was basically WCW vs. WWE.

Wrestling (pro form) is just........bizarre. If it's supposedly scripted, what makes it interesting? I'm actually asking in all sincerity on that.

Am I missing the point?

A soap opera with athleticism. The timeless good vs. evil conflict, the betrayals, the underdog stories etc.

And even though it is scripted there are ad-libs and improvs and some matches you really don't know who can win. Same reason some gambling websites actually allow people to place bets on some matches.

Pretty much everything Heywood just said. The fact that it's scripted doesn't really matter. Every movie and TV show that people watch and enjoy are fake too.

Mossy, here is a clip from the match of Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock at Wrestlemania 18 in 2002. 60k+ in Toronto's Skydome.

http://dai.ly/xpi72h

Skip to 7:48. This is where the bad guy gets the upper hand and the crowd gets pissed. [What's great about this is heading into the match, The Rock was actually the good guy and Hogan was the bad guy (face vs. heel in wrestling terms). But when WWE has events outside of the US, the crowds seem to go against what WWE wants and cheers opposite most of the time, so Hogan ended up being the crowd favorite in this match while the Rock was boo'd].

Everything at 8:21 changes, and the crowd goes NUTS.

This match was like the equivalent of seeing Koufax pitch to Bonds, or Pedro pitch to Trout, or Jordan go 1v1 with LeBron. It will never happen in baseball, but in wrestling because careers can go for 20-30 years you get a chance to see the old generation vs. the new generation and it makes great moments.

Coincidentally, the Rock left the business full time to go into movies in 2004... and he came back and wrestled for the first time in 2012, and then he wrestled the new generation's fan "favorite" John Cena.

Why watch any tv show then. Its fake and the good guy always wins. Wrestling is more real than any non sports show, its even more real than reality tv. If your only exposure to wrestling is WWE then I understand why you dont get it. Its run by a legit crazy man who hates pro wrestling. Sometimes its just fun to watch the trainwreck.

If Vince had his way this is what his show would be.

As krg said, I don't think Vince hates wrestling since the McMahon's have been promoting wrestling since his grandfather. Vince just has decent business acumen. In the early 2000's when MMA started getting more mainstream and popular, he moved away from using the term "wrestling" which most people saw as child's play, to "sports' entertainment". They were both essentially fighting for a similar demographic, even though WWE denies this. A few years ago WWE realized the 18-29 demo was being lost to UFC, so they switched to the "PG-13" era. More kid friendly stuff, less babes in bikini's, no more blood, no more chair shots to the head, etc. Shrewd move by Vince because kids will always love the appeal of pro wrestling (super heroes and villians), and as long as kids want to go watch, their parents will go too. And because of the politically correct crowd, he toned down all the stuff that made wrestling peak in the late 90's early 2000's, as parents feel more comfortable letting their kids watch wrestling without the blood, violence, and near nudity from their divas.
