Since we match up well with what the Rangers are looking at. Do we continue with the risk/reward type prospects and try for Profar? He should be able to slide over to 3B long term for us

Pop flies go out in RF at Yankee Stadium.

FOrtunately for BRaves fans who want Mac back, only 3 of his homers ahve been Yankee Stadium Cheapies. He's hit 10 homers at Yankee Stadium, 3 cheapies, 1 that would have been out of about 12 parks so a lucky one if you would, and the other 6 were no doubters, out of all or almost every park (29 or 30)

I don't think Profar's bat plays at 3B. If we didn't have so many MI, I would love to buy low on Profar, but I doubt the Rangers are going to sell low as it is.

That's the kicker, we have so many MIF. WE have 2 good ones in the bigs now (well one great one and a good one) and our 2 top hitting prospects are MIF as well. What we need is someone who need MIF and pitching and has power to trade for 3B or the OF.

Have kept Profar in the back of my mind all along, but think he made much more sense before we got Maybin, Peterson and Mallex and they "broke out". Assuming he ever gets healthy, his value was likely tied to the fact that he had a glove that would play at an up the middle position and he'd eventually have plus power for one of those spots (15-20 HRs). I don't know that he'll ever hit more HRs than that (if he ever does), and his shoulder will have a lot to do with that IMO.

That said, I'd love to take a flier on him IF you could get something else involved in the deal. They're obviously looking for pen help, so Johnson should be attractive to them. I personally wouldn't think twice about offering something like Johnson, Sims, and maybe another throw-in arm for Nick Williams and Profar, but I'm just not sure I'd be willing to give up more than that. I'd make the case that they're giving up a young MI with a high ceiling who's lost two years of development to injury for an equally young SP with a high ceiling who's struggled to make adjustments thus far. Both Sims and Profar still have plenty of time given their ages, but I'd argue that Jurickson's star has lost as much shine as Sims' has at this point. If you look at the BA Midseason Top 50 list and recent promotions, Carlos Correa, Addison Russell, Corey Seager, J. P. Crawford, Orlando Arcia, Trea Turner, and possibly even Franklin Barreto might rank ahead of Profar at this point, putting him in that next tier of guys with the two we already have - Peraza and Albies.

OK...Maybin, Pierzynski, and Jim Johnson to San Francisco for Susac, Mac Williamson, and Ray Black.
