2024 Field

I just don’t understand the ethics behind this thinking. It’s a procedural difference, not a moral one.

Because some people (who are not US citizens) like bin Laden, should be killed. They are enemies of the state.

I’d hate to be someone that past few years that tried to defend Biden’s mental ability the past few years.

Epic landslide incoming boys. Golden age on the horizon.

Now let's see if Trump can run the clock out with the lead.

No need to run the clock out.

We have everything to be aggressive and win states nobody thought were possible VA/MN/NJ/NH/etc....

At this point 340+ electoral votes should be the goal/expectation.

I’m not asking for sympathy for Bin Laden. I’m asking for sympathy for the innocent people we have killed while trying to find the people like Bin Laden.

It's a war. There is bound to be collateral damage. However, many of these people are complicit with the terrorist organizations in the area. Did you have sympathy for the Germans that were bombed during WWII, despite their direct support of the Nazi regime?

I feel the same way about Palestine. While I have sympathy for innocent civilians, there is a simple solution for the people in Palestine to stop the war. Take up arms and drive out every last member of Hamas. If they actually wanted that, they would have unilateral support from Israel, the US, and just about every member of the UN. But they don't want to do that. They'd rather support a terrorist organization than make an alliance with Israel or other west countries.

That’s one hell of a simple solution. Risk your lives to kill your government in the hopes that Israel stops using your neighborhood as target practice. Since the original attack, ~300 Israelis and ~30,000 Palestinians have died. Why would any civilian in Palestine look at this response and think “ya know, if I just give my life to taking out Hamas, these guys will have my back and keep me safe”?

I think the concept that the civilians are responsible for the sins of their authoritarian government is one of the most deeply harmful ideas in world history. It’s been used for centuries to say the ends justify the means when those “ends” are killing more innocent people than you’re actually protecting.

1. Those numbers have been widely panned as exaggerated. Though admittedly, even if it's closer to 20k I don't think it changes the narrative much.

2. Yes it is simple. Hamas started the war. Hamas has refused armistice. Hamas is using Palestinian people as human shields in this war. Israel has offered peace numerous times. They even offered treaties several times over that last 100 years that give Palestine basically everything they ask for. It has been refused every time.

3. You are either complicit in the actions of your country or you must take actions to remove those responsible from office. Either peacefully or non-peacefully. If you are complicit, then yes, you are responsible for the sins of your country.

As much as we want it to be, the world isn't candy and ribbons. And it's naïve to assume collateral damage will never be a part of it.

The citizens give power to their government.

Until the government crushes the citizens. At that point, citizens often must literally trade their lives for a new one. I don’t see why any individual Palestinian would take that risk, particularly when Israel has shown that they’re willing to treat anyone and everyone as collateral damage.

1) I’m not going to argue the numbers, because as you said 300 compared to 20,000 is still the same argument.

2) Hamas started the war, and I agree Hamas is bad and shouldn’t be in power. But I’m not sold on Israel’s efforts to bring an end to the conflict when they’re destroying *everything* in Gaza.

3) If your family was murdered today by someone from Pakistan whose family was killed in a drone strike, you would just say “well I guess I had that coming.”

If the US government ever starts using me and family and friends as a human shield, I would hope I would re-evaluate my allegiances.

Been saying this for a year. Biden is the best they have and the left was begging for anyone but Trump to be nominated.

I would too! But I can’t say I’d be willing to sacrifice myself and my children to bring about that regime change. If the soldiers using my family as human shields said they would kill us all, I’d believe it and sit there being a shield. I’d subsequently hope that Canada doesn’t decide to blow me up anyway.

We are target practice now. To the hordes of ****hole people from ****hole countries.

Could just move to the other 30+ Muslim majority counties to avoid it
