Around Baseball 2024 edition

I see it the other way around. Most of those SP we have will be increasing their IP from last year by a lot. Who knows when that starts to effect them. Might already have with Lopez. And I can think of one team specifically the one we are most likely to face in the first round who aren't afraid of us.

I still think the Braves would be a team nobody wanted to play in the playoffs bc of their pitching. The hitters have started turning it around but the pitching has been lights out all year.

If soler and Riley are in the lineup

I saw this on Twitter:

Acuña - torn ACL
Albies - broken hand
Riley - probably something broken
Olson - healthy!
Ozuna - healthy!
Harris - hamstring, 2 months
Murphy - oblique, 2 months
Arcia - abscessed tooth, 1 week
Kelenic - streaky, all year
Strider - elbow surgery
Lopez - elbow
Minter - hip
Laureano - oblique
Fried - elbow/nerve issues

Never seen a year with this many injuries to key players. Its crazy that we still hold a playoff spot. I just saw where Acuna will be back with the team some so maybe just him being there will bring some energy to the guys.

On yet another gut-punch day that is the 2024 Braves, here's some record tidbits:

When Braves allow 4 or more runs: 8-48
5 of those wins came in the first 14 games of the season.

When Strider, Lopez, Fried, or Sale start: 43-21
When Morton or Schwelly start: 15-21
When anyone else starts: 8-16

Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN is coming up soon for the Braves:

September 1 at Philadelphia
September 15 vs. Los Angeles

The September 1 game has been scheduled on ESPN for awhile, but the September 15 one was just decided in the last week. I'm shocked because Red Sox-Yankees play that weekend.

White Sox are flirting with being the worst team of all time. Currently their .242 winning percentage is the 2nd worst since 1900. They have won a total of 4 games since the All-Star break. I feel like there are potentially some AAA teams out there that would perform better than this.

We lost to them twice somehow. If we miss the playoffs by a game, thats one way to look.

Heyward is very good vs RHP, and better than Kelenic or Laureano overall. If he makes it to us we should grab him.

The Braves are not going to give up on Kelenic just yet. I don't see Heyward as an option.. maybe, just maybe if he clears waivers.. but I have a feeling someone will grab him.. the Braves won't put a claim on him with his salary still owed.
