Why Academics Leftists and Elitists Need to Treat Ordinary Americans With Respect

So if he used it knowing that it would decline valid claims? Aa they say, declining claims in error was a feature not a big.

as a thought experiment - let's say Fauci intentionally funded the creation of the covid 19 virus; and intentionally lied about, and that was settled fact. What should his punishment be, if any?

I also don't think "colluding with Russia" (whatever that means) is an offense worthy of outrage. politicians and business people work with all sorts of countries all the time to advance their interest. I'm more outraged that Obama and Biden "colluded" with Ukraine to launch a proxy war that has cost us hundreds of billions and cost tens of thousands of lives

Life in prison would work fine for me. I’m fundamentally not an eye for an eye guy, so my primary concern would be ability to do it again. I wouldn’t lose any sleep if he faced the firing squad if he truly were a Bond Villain who intentionally killed millions, but I wouldn’t choose death for even the worst of the worst.

I only bring up the Trump-Russia stuff as a parallel for your reasoning, not for similarity in the actions. If he did what they said, refer him to the courts and let the evidence be judged accordingly.

as I am convinced of his guilt, I'm confused why you take issue with my desire to see him face the same punishment you call for here

yes, if he intentionally took action to deny valid claims, I would join you in calling him guilty. Do you have any evidence of this? Did "Mr. Luigi"?

I would not join you in calling for his execution

If you’re that convinced he intentionally created COVID to kill people, I am questioning not your morality but rather your judgement.

If you make him less than a Bond villain actively trying to kill people, you ruin your own thought experiment.

the evil was in the illegal funding (GOF research was banned) and the nonstop lying about it. it wouldn't surprise me that was intention behind using it violently, but I can't prove that

not to mention he admitting that he lied about masks and distance measure and other things for "our own good"

lol at AI being to blame for declined claims … sure !!!!

Posters here swore by AIs objectivity and truthful design for months before. They even used it as a reasoning tool when they couldn’t formulate defense of their positions themselves

So there’s no way it could make mistakes … no one would trust it that much

The evil to people who believe Thompson’s murder was justified was his profiting from a system that has led to rising costs and denied claims. You just seem to be under the impression that your worldview is inherently more legitimate.

making profit is not a crime. people should support that.

I understand that young people are fresh off the teachings of academics, and thus - are extra stupid - but them being clueless about what they are even mad about makes their support for murder that much worse

Didn't the guy that shot the United CEO get an operation that fixed his back and he himself wrote he hadn't had issues since?

So you *are* using written laws as a basis then? Nothing is any more or less universally moral about making profit off of others than funding research to fight viruses or lying to Congress about it. You don’t need fancy schooling to see people like him living lives of great luxury while people with insurance struggle financially due to healthcare costs. I still agree it’s morally unacceptable to kill someone over that, but I promise it doesn’t take a college lecture for young people to connect those two dots.

Where did I call for his execution. My point was just that he wasn't innocent if the claims made are true.

What’s the threshold before murder is justified? I think it’s 20%, but I’m not as plugged into vigilante scene as I wish

Unlike some around here, I'm a law-and-order guy.

Also unlike some, I don't think efficient markets are a self-perpetuating thang. They require a robust enforcement (notice the law-and-order theme) effort against anticompetitive behavior. The healthcare industry has been on this consolidation binge. We shouldn't be surprised they don't treat their customers well.
