Ryan Helsley could probably be had from the Cardinals. He's the same age as Scott at 30 but is a FA after the season and will cost players to acquire and money. Maybe they can get Fredde with him.

There should be penalities like no international money /1st round pick for going over 300 million and also for not spending 100 million. The sport needs to get some competitive balance to advance the sport

Then just go on strike. MLB needs to change a lot of stuff to keep the game from being so boring to most fans. They don't promote the game well enough. The offseason should be like other sports in FA instead of dragging for 4 months. You have 5 teams that have unlimited money pretty much. I know people will say well other teams are free to spend. Well the market they are in won't allow that type of money to be spent without massive losses and I don't care how much money the owner has he's not gonna start taking money out of his personal account just to keep up. There should be a salary cap and a salary floor to also keep the owners from just getting by.

We’ve stockpiled relievers, #5SP, and MIF in AAA. We have no OF depth. I’m thinking if we’re only making 1 move it’s gong to be OF.

Profar seems to make the most sense.

They really do have to find one more major league-level OF.

The playoffs are a crap shoot and the best team doesn't always win We were easily the best team in MLB in 2023 and got bounced. The Dodgers are setting themselves up to have an insane season but that won't mean squat when October comes. I'm glad the Dbacks got Burnes bc they are gonna be pretty tough to beat out there to.

Tucker, Bichette, and Cease are all FA next year and all 3 would fill a big hole for us so maybe AA is trying to reset the tax to spend next offseason. At this point I don't know what he's doing.

There’s a fundamental problem with the economics of the sport if a team with a top 5 payroll that paid penalties for spending too much can be accused of bean counting.

Bowman even said the Braves had pulled the medicals on Scott... so I believe his source was real... he just jumped the gun and assumed it was a done deal because medicals were pulled.
