8/12 GDT: Strider, The Bruján, and The Drake vs. The La Guardia Flight Path

So the counter? He must limit his times through the order....he needs to be in the bullpen. Period. He's cooked! Yes he had another UCL injury but to pretend like some players don't come back the same is naive. Strider cannot throw 98+ consistently but he also cannot throw 95-96 effectively...something has to give.

I'm willing to give Strider a clean offseason & spring training before I write off his velo. Don't forget he also had the hamstring issue, which may affect his leg-heavy delivery.

Isaac Collins is now officially the betting favorite for NL ROY. Collins -115, Baldwin -105.

It's going to be brutal when the Braves fall out of the top 5 in the draft AND Baldwin doesn't win the ROY.
If when they get Riley, sale, and acuna back, they still suck, you gonna do a mini-blow up. This team should be pretty good in September. I think I would be more worried about the future if they get these guys back and still pick top 5

Sale should be on a hard inning cap per game with scheduled extra days rest.
Riley will tear another labia muscle doing his kegel exercises.
Acuna should be on an every other day playing schedule until the end of the season and he can do a full off season of strength training.

Austin Cox and Bummer need to pitch every other day regardless.

There's. Nothing to play for at this point but a better draft pick and ROTY. To bad Sale and the rest aren't done for the year. It's what's best for the team at this point.

Agreed, but it would never be allowed to shut down a healthy player just to tank.. but Sale and Acuna are both fragile AF and the team can control how much they play in hopes to keep them healthy until next year. unfortunately there is one HUGE idiot standing in the way of that and one sleeping GM that doesn't feel the need to send directives.. so expect them to play everyday, in every conditions and to maximum effort.

Yeah you can't sit em if they are healthy. Since this is Riley's 2nd time for the same thing in the past couple of months he could be shut down to let it fully heal. Same goes for the micro fracture in SS elbow.

Doubt we see SS#2. Lopez is the one I'm interested in if we see

That seems wrong. Could strider have chosen to not get it repaired at all?

ETA... "wrong" as I think it's wrong that the team doesn't have major input on these decisions. Not I think you're wrong

Can the team dictate which of two medically acceptable options a player takes? No.

It can give advice and express a preference but it ultimately isn't up to the team and it's not going to void the contract.

i doubt Lopez or Jimenez are seen this year. They should definitely be ready for ST though. Holmes will almost undoubtedly be in the bullpen and Lopez should be too. They'll be excellent depth pieces when needed. And if Strider struggles next year then him becoming the closer like Smotlz did may be the next option for him. I think he just needs a full offseason though. That leaves us with Sale and both SS in the rotation going into the offseason. We need 2 SP in the offseason

JJ had a leg set back and Lopez is dealing with shoulder issue.. both can be career enders imo.. I wouldn't count on them for 2026 if I were GM if they haven't progressed by end of season to at least throwing.
