Minor League Thread Part Deux

Consider the scouting reports on the players accuracy rather than rankings. We really just lack the depth other teams have. Outside our top 16 is just embarrassing. Players high in the minors are given more value and the Braves typically dont leave the best ones in the high minors too long.
They have just missed the boat on a number of the bats they've drafted, Conley for one. They've hit big-time with Harris and Baldwin (to this point) and Alvarez, although he looks a bit like Grissom, is probably going to be a major league player. I don't think they thought guys like Conley and Waddell would be top-drawer prospects, but I imagine they envisioned guys like that becoming contributors. I still can't figure out why Waddell hasn't seen some major league action to this point just to see what they have.

I actually remember Gotay more as a Royal -- he was one of the thousand tiny specks of light Royals fans desperately sought in the darkness of the early-to-mid Aughts. And, in fairness, he did flash some genuine potential in the minors. But hey, good for him, finding another calling in the game.

Well, yeah. He didn’t spend much time with anyone else.

I totally whiffed on Gotay playing for the Braves. I had lost track of when the Braves dipped due to the dreaded (in John Schuerholz' terms) "economics of baseball." If you want to stump your pals, you can grab guys off those teams from the playoff drought from 2006 to 2009 for questions. Chad Paronto or Lance Cormier anyone?

‘Ole Parontosauras. I remember when he came up and they didn’t have a jersey that fit him, so they had to get a temp bootleg one from somewhere and print his name on the back.
