Williams won’t sign for 1/$16. What am I missing?

Iggy wasn't worth 1/16, imo.

Williams likely could have been for less on a per year basis though, even if it required a 3 year commitment.

Iggy is in clear decline. Somehow running back the same team as last year doesn't seem like a great idea.

Damn that's wild that Bowman was right about that when I figured it was just speculation.

That being said. Dubon is an upgrade over Allen and can be an average player. Still want someone better but if he's a utility guy then that's the start to a good bench.

edit: If this is a precursor to getting a legit OF/DH to rotate with Acuna and Profar then Dubon is an acceptable glove first/9th hitting SS.

Looks like Allen will take his Rafael Belliard tribute act to Houston.

Bowman is making a big (everything he does is big) assumption as to Dubon being the starting SS.

Dubon is insurance. I have to believe the plan is for him to be utility, but AA may also be telling the market that he won’t be bullied into overpaying for a SS.

They don’t want to play him there, but if nothing else is available, they don’t have to panic.
