Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

You can have Lindsey Graham. Ill take Massie. Even if he makes the job of a massive government a little tougher
Again - You have wisely understood htat being a LIbertarian at this time in history is not useful. Its the same argument with Massie.

Do you think trading him out for lindsey graham is a positive for a better future?
For the next 5-10 years that we have to reclaim the sovereignty of our nation? 100%.

Immediately after that? Give me a full congress full of Massies. I'd love to have the luxury of being able to do that.

Ha!

"We have to vote for this today ro save us! We have to ignore the constitution to save us! We have to fund all these awful things to get this one thing we need!"

A decades old story. I was told trump was the change agent

He has proven to be so and helped set off a global pushback against communism. Not acknowledging this makes you lose credibility because its undeniable what is happening.

He just took down one of the most burdensome regulatory agendas in existence. Federal employment is hte lowest level in 50 years. The interior removals coupled with self removals has been incredible.

But sure, lets ignore those things.

There is no massie on the left

It requires standing up to party leadership and I've seen nobody do that yet

Massie is a modern day Ron paul. The people who say we should have listened to Ron paul are the same people saying we have to get rid of Massie
Bart Stupak was the last one who comes to mind. He led a few other moderate Dems in a stand against the original ObamaCare bill funding abortions. He was assured the bill wouldn’t do that, and equally assured that it was impossible to specifically state that in the bill. His group eventually fractured due to party pressure and caved in a “compromise” of Obama signing an EO to specify the funds couldn’t be used for abortion. Stupak was then ran out of the House by his party.

Prior to that, Heath Shuler ran against Pelosi for Speaker in an effort to stop the leftward race the party was making towards San Francisco progressivism. He lost and was then ran out of the House by his party.

One does not challenge the dogma of the progressive faith.

I agree with you both.

Massie ain't getting Greenland defended. Massie ain't getting Maduro out. Massie is a lot of good, but he doesn't have the stones to do what Trumps done.

Yep. all or nuttin'

It would be unfair not to mention Manchin and Sinema on the Senate side. Their willingness to stand up to the party when Dems had full control during the Biden administration is the only reason we still have a republic.

But its more than that - I don't care if he doesn't have the stones. He just needs to to understand the current reality and how clsoe we are to losing it all.

As massie says

He votes with Trump 91% of the time. When he doesnt, its when he wants to fund a new war, protect pedophiles, or fund fraud

That youre in a cult is not Massies fault.

I truly cannot comprehend why you are against vetoing omnibus bills and voting on single spending bills

I cannot comprehend why that is offensive to you.

Actually I can... because being supportive of that would require admitting Trump failed to produce it

Status quo it is

Not sure “stones” is the reason he wouldn’t do those things. Maybe the Constitutionality of some of those actions would though

"This is the world we are in!" He wil explain

While republicans own all 3 branches. Hand picked speaker. Trump the change agent!

Status quo it is
While waiting for this hypothetical day when Republicans will have enough power to actually do the right thing which is never gonna happen. Polymarket has 90% odds that Dems retake Congress later this year, if that happens, so long Trump era. It will be two more years of EOs that get shredded within the 1st hour of the next D presidency.

Well wait Trump is the 1st president since James Garfield to never veto a spending bill so maybe thats the change agent

You started a threat about cautious optimism

I was with you. DOGE, project 2025, different personnel

Just a massive missed opportunity

And the most religious are telling me that Lindsey Graham is the answer
