Everyone on the board wants this regime to die, you are not a traitor if you’re against what it will cost to achieve it.

I love the new standard we’ve established for involving ourselves in foreign conflicts.

In defense of thethe, his first couple of posts on the subject said he doesn’t want boots on the ground. Others may see it differently but that’s where my line normally is as well, punitive raids good, occupation and land war bad. It’s also why I think most of the time the Army funding should be reduced and redirected to Air Force and Navy. Having a sports car makes it much more tempting to speed. The dishonest ones, like thethe, get their marching orders and flip on a dime, backfilling logic on the fly, scolding everyone else in the process. “Oh I guess you just want [insert bullshit].” It’s really unbecoming.
No boots on the ground. It’s up to the Iranians to take back the country after we take out the islamists. In defense of thethe, his first couple of posts on the subject said he doesn’t want boots on the ground. The cascading impacts of a destroyed Iranian regime will bring so much benefit to the western world. I can’t understand being against it bEveryone on the board wants this regime to die, you are not a traitor if you’re against what it will cost to achieve it.
Fine. Then state your support for the war.I’ll put the under on that but 50k people have been slaughtered by the Iranian regime in just the last month.
Islamist regime in Iran will not survive this and I think it’ll be quicker than most think. The battle to stabilize the country will take a while. As possibly the last card-carrying neocon I'm ok with this. Even if the regime in Iran is not toppled, it will be weakened.
I think we all agree folks like Maduro and Khatami are bad and have had destabilizing and damaging effects on their neighbors. To remove or weaken them is as solid a goal as I can think of in foreign affairs.
I support using our military to achieve noble goals if no Americans die or we have boots on the ground.Fine. Then state your support for the war.
It’s already been so exhausting to see MAGA do the semantics game (“it’s just an operation”) to reconcile their previous positions.
I think it is pretty unclear how this is going to go. I can't think of any air campaign that has achieved regime change. If it does great, but I have some doubts. The regime in Iran lost the support of its people long ago and I hope they are able to replace it with something better.Islamist regime in Iran will not survive this and I think it’ll be quicker than most think. We have a ground force there that is super motivated to take the country back. Destabilize the leadership and it will happen.I think it is pretty unclear how this is going to go. So far their immediate response indicates they aren’t as strong as some believe. They’ve only enraged their neighbors more which seems like an odd strategy.Iran is not a paper tiger, their citizens live crappy lives so that money can be used to make the leaders live in luxury and the military strong. No American lives lost is possible but a big ask. Taking down the regime is at best a stretch goal.
Global terror is primarily funded by IranI can definitely see a purpose in this.
Women have been crushed under the Islamic regime. Over it.
Soon you’ll shut up about trumps economy and cower in the corner knowing how stupid your takes were.

Iranians will have to take back their country. We’ve been training and arming resistance forces and I’d expect that to escalate from outside the countryAir campaign will not achieve the objective of regime change or stabilizing Iran.
If that’s the goal, then we’ll need a ground campaign at some point.
If folks are against “boots on the ground” then they should at the very least understand why may oppose getting involved in the first place. If you support a ground campaign because you believe in the objective, then I can respect that.
