Can we at least show some signs of life?
Thats what is wrong with this team.....all about the home runs. Check out how many times he has failed with runners on base in crucial situations.
It is largely Medlen's fault. Braves score 4.34 runs per game on the average. if you put the team in a position where they cannot win scoring under the average numbers of runs, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. Not to mention the Mets still have 3.2 potential innings for the BP to give up a run. The braves allowing 1 run on the pen would fit perfectly into their Reliever ERA. Meaning the Braevs would essentially need to given the likely scenarios that would happen after Medlen leaving the game score 6 runs to win the game. Which would be well above their season average. Hardly impossible. But you cannot count on your offense to bail you out when you let up 4 runs in under 6 innings. Sure it can happen, just cannot count on it.

Let's not get OT and get personal into favorite colleges.Taking away the home run isnt gonna make them play small ball effectively. It's no coincidence the least knowledgable posters on this board all have "dawn" in their sn. If you can't properly spell "dog", your opinion on run scoring means nothing to me.
Guys, we obviously have not been getting our PED shipments since the Biogenesis thing took off. Don't worry, as soon as we find a new supplier we will start hitting again.

How in the world can anyone think Alex Wood is ready to be a starter over Medlen?
He didn't even pitch that dominantly in his bullpen outings...?!
Are some of you just that biased because he went to UGA?
Who knows.
THe last time we won a playoff series, our regular season record was 88-74 in 2001 and that team wasn't even as all-around talented as this one. We had Lopez with bad knees, Caminit and Julio alternating 1st base, Rey Sanchez, BJ Surhoff/Bernard Gilkey and Brian Jordan hitting cleanup.
Maybe we're one of those teams that isn't dominant in regular season then gets really hot in the playoffs like all the other teams that have beaten us in the past in the postseason?
2002 we had a good all-around team.
2003 we had a historically great offense.
2004 we had a solid all-around team.
2005 we had a decent team.
2010 we had a decent team.
2012 we had a really good team.
Nope. I'm just tired of not even trying to watch 2/5 of our rotation when I feel like they're going to be losses. How in this backwards season do I have more confidence in a rookie like Teheran than Medlen or Maholm?
Um, in the 2001 NLDS we faced the following starters: Wade Miller, Dave Mlicki, Shayne Reynolds. I don't see us facing anything nearly that easy this year
This. Excuse me if I don't get excited at winning a piss poor division to once again get our ass handed to us in the postseason because of inconsistent play and the fact that no adjustments were even attempted.
