Braves Acquire Russell, Bonifacio

I don't love either of the guys we acquired, but seriously . . . Millwood1hitter, you're a straight-up troll. Crocodile tears over Caratini . . . come on.

Yeah, we all should've put those lovefests with prospects after the switch to here from Scout. Caratini was the organization's #7th ranked prospect. Nothing special. Maybe he'll turn out, but they got some pieces to address needs now. Anyway, those types of posts, lamenting the losses of marginal prospects, come from posters who don't even go to games.

Still waiting on someone to tell me where what's his face would have fit in here. Gotta do something with Gattis, whether it's trading him or putting him in LF. Only other option would be DH if the next commissioner institutes it across baseball.

What about Bethancourt? Gotta figure out what to do with him?

Would you put what's his face at 3B? We really going to wait that long to do something about 3B?

 Like the pieces we got but that's an overpay

Not really. Thats about what you would expect for two semi valuable major league players, especially with them giving us cash. Victor has coming along, but wasn't anywhere close to a great prospect.

Bong

Davies

Marte

Delgado

Machado

Nelson

Bowie

Belisle

Cappellan

Hernandez

And on and on. Most young guys don't become anything. Wainwright, Feliz, and andrus did well but that's expected from top tier guys.

7th best prospect on one of the bottom farm systems in the majors right now. He wasn't without value, which is why the Cubs wanted him. But he is hardly what one would call a major prospect. If he can't stick at catcher, his value decreases a lot.

Lol. That's all I have to say.

Not surprised that you don't have a valid argument.

Kubitza is good defensively, has a little pop, draws a lot of walks, and has better than average speed (for a 3b anyways). Only real negative is his propensity to strike out, which tends to be the downfall of many prospects,

Capellan was a huge disappointment. All I read was high 90s. His first start he got absolutely hammered. Straight as a dart fastball.

I couldn't get over his eyebrows

His propensity to strike out is at an alarming level. Nearly 24%. If you look at some leaders in baseball today and what they did in the minors. Chris Davis struck out 24.5%, Bossman 19.7. Mark Reynolds 23.3. Adam Dunn 18.2. Ryan Howard 27%. Guys who K a lot in the majors didn't K 30% in the minors. 30% K rate with little power leaves little to be desired. His .160 iso SLG is close to Tommy La Stella's career average. And TLS doesn't have much pop.

Look at any prospect list, baseball america, sickels, B-Pro. Every single damned one of them had Caratini as a top 10 prospect and Kubitza nowhere to be found. Sickels who goes to 20 didn't list Kubitza. Kubitza is neither a stathead darling or a scout darling. He's the darling of box score watchers who see the results and don't look deeper. He's basically the anti-La Stella. TLS was underrated because he was old for his age now people are looking at Kubitza in the same regard.

I don't feed trolls. If you can't take 3 seconds to research prospects who were traded who became great then well sucks to be you
