MLB Playoffs Thread

The Dodgers DID have great pitching. They just didn't pitch great for a few games. It happens. That doesn't mean their pitching wasn't great.

It didn't continue.

Dodgers had good, not great, pitching and couldn't get the hits. Tigers bullpen was awful, and it was the exact reason a lot of people didn't pick them to win. Angels didn't hit, and if I'm not mistaken, they were slumping coming in. Nationals got strong pitching, didn't hit.

The Royals are doing everything right now, and it's working.

I guess the regular season is a crapshoot, too.

Kershaw got rocked in Game 1.

Greinke threw a shutout, Ryu gave up 1 run, Kershaw gave up 3 runs.

For the most part they got strong SP so fail there.

And again, we're not talking about the playoffs little guy.

Over 162, all of that was true.

LAA lead the league in runs if im not mistaken.

Point of the matter is those teams had all of what i said.

LAD had strong SP all year for the most part.

Detroit did too.

LAA lead the league in runs.

Washington had a mix of both all year.

So it just proves my point that the playoffs ARE indeed a crapshoot.

Other than Game 1, their SP's gave up 0, 1, and 3.

Plenty good to win.

Absolutely. And if Kershaw is Kershaw in game 1, they probably win the series. It's little things, or one game. And one or two games can be random, unlucky, and cost teams.

Never said any of those teams didn't have great anything throughout the year.

But you have to be talented to make the postseason, and you have to do a lot of things well, once you get there.

I don't think anyone said having a Kershaw or Trout automatically guarantees success in October. Sure helps, though.

The Royals may not be the best, but this isn't just dumb luck.

I dont think anyone here said the Royals are a fluke, lucky team.

But they're having alot go right now, which many teams have had happened in the playoffs.

Which proves, my, yeezus and other points that the playoffs are a crapshoot.

OK. Sports in general are a crapshoot.

I don't think anyone is saying it's strictly "dumb luck." But, the right things are happening at the right time. Players that did nothing in the regular season are coming up with big hits. That's pretty lucky.

No, I refuse to have enjoyment of the Royals spoon-fed to me by the lazy-ass sports media.

"You can't resist our built-in narrative and Midwestern wholesomeness!"

Yes, I can. Plus, with St Louis in the picture, I'm already OD'ing on phony cornfed Midwestern charm.

Go Bodymore.

Don't know much about Kansas City, but much like St. Louis fans, Mizzou fans are self-righteous, and they got that ass spanked today, so I'm in a good mood.

1/14

We rolled the dice in the those 13 failures (losses during our streak) and that will never be matched.
