I would say the main thing that is difference in these countries is lack of racial/economic diversity. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, racial tension is highly prevalent in the US and is a major component to most crime that you see. And sadly, that's just the facts of life. Different races just don't get along, and it's been that way since the beginning of time. And it's going to stay the way for long past the time we are dead.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to notice that Sweden and Switzerland (high gun ownership/low crime rate countries) have a lot of rich white people living there and not much racial diversity. And rich white people don't go around shooting each other all that often.
I've visited 7 different countries so far, not that it matters.

I don't know what point you are trying to make. I am not putting any blame on any one race in particular. And yes, all the things you mentioned are major causes of racial tension today.
How many other developed countries have as large of a population and have similar demographics?

Ok. That doesn't have anything to do with the fact that racial tension exists every where in the world, not just the US. But no other country is the sort of melting pot that America is. Sure white people contribute more than others here. But that fact should be expected since whites are the majority.
Ever been to Latin American countries outside of the tourist areas? I can assure you they aren't very fond of white Americans.

My original statement asked why do people want to compare the US to different countries when they are nothing alike.
And we aren't talking about per capita since I clearlly stated population size as a comparison. When talking about how often something happens, it seems pretty plausible that it might happen more often in a country with twice the population of countries you are trying to compare them to.

Not sure what your issue is. I've agreed with basically everything you've said regarding racism.
And I obviously am talking about the demographics of every country, something you don't need to visit a particular country to actually know, as demographic rates are readily available via the internet.
And you obviously don't get the point that the size of the country is completely relevant as well in the discussion. I assume you are talking about demographic rates. If not I apologize, as it's about time for me to go to bed. Even accounting for per capita, you are talking about a situation that is a very rare occurrence. Wouldn't it seem plausible that you would see a rare occurrence at much lower rates or even not at all in a much less populated country?
