Am I reading this right? You are saying the 2014/2015 Brooklyn Nets are a 50-win team?

You read that right assuming Lopez and Williams are healthy. I know you don't watch them play so you have no clue how good and deep they are.

BTW, KJ McDaniels looks like a keeper. You guys just need to find some shooting in the worst way.

Yeah, this rebuild is about a 3-year rebuild. As far as I'm concerned, they have another 2 drafts and off-seasons to refine their squad before potentially competing. I still much prefer this method to the "be mediocre but not bad enough to get the top talent" method, which is just an exercise in futility. They should have a ton of talent in a year or two.

In other words, you will have your excuse when Lopez inevitably goes down?

You really need Embid to be good or else you guys are not going to be good in a few years. He has the potential to become a top player as long as he can stay healthy.

Yeah, the risk is these years of being terrible not being worth anything in the long-run. But in the NBA it doesn't pay to be decent, or average. Just getting in the playoffs isn't enough like in other sports. Is being terrible really much worse than being decent? Don't have a shot either way. Being decent for too long doesn't get you anything, being terrible gets you top picks. Sixers will have another top-3 pick this coming draft.

If you are the Knicks, do you want Melo shooting? Or Shane Larkin, Quincy Acy?

All the guy cares about is getting his own numbers. As long as that is happening he doesn't care weather they win or lose. He got paid and will remain the only player on his team with a pulse because his greed.

Unless the team drafts really, really well, in the case of the former—while the latter can backfire if the team drafts (or, in some cases, develops) players really poorly.

I agree, for the most part its really random. You have to be able to draft well regardless of where you pick. Sure, your chances go up but its more than just getting top picks.

He's averaging almost 4.5 assists a game this year.....just proves you don't watch games and just hate to hate. The Knicks are tied for 5th in team assists, the Knicks pass the ball really well.......they just aren't hitting shots. Again, which is why it's stupid to freak out so early, the Knicks actually look good if you watch the games. Once Melos shots go down and Calderon/Bargs are back they should be fine.

I don't know what you define "fine" as but I think they should be on the border of a playoff team. But, this wasn't there year anyway. Next year I think Marc Gasol is coming to NY and the Knicks will be a contender.

Top picks help a lot. Who has done without? The Spurs with Parker, Ginobili, and Leonard. Not the Thunder. Not the Heat. Not the Lakers. All I'm saying is it ups your chances. Chances of getting a game-changer at 8-14 is unlikely. The Sixers, in two years, will have Noel, Embiid, MCW, McDaniels, Saric, another top 3 pick, I believe another top 14 pick. Unless LeBron or KD are coming here, they weren't going to be good anytime soon no matter what. A FA or two and they could be in business.

I agree with yeezus, in the NBA its better to suck than be in NBA purgotory sp? (Hawks, Knicks, etc)

Cant tell what will happen with draft picks but its better to do that than try to "compete" which wont last in a title.

Maybe Presti knew what he was doing when he signed Morrow. Might become the best signing all year.
