Obamacare architect thinks all of you are stupid.

The MIT economist who is the brains behind Obamacare has made quite a stir with his admission that President Obama’s health care takeover was built on lies. Mr. Gruber says he was willing to say and do whatever it took to advance the scheme, and now it’s clear why. Obamacare made Mr. Gruber a multimillionaire, and at the expense of the taxpayers.

Video of Mr. Gruber’s remarks, delivered at a University of Pennsylvania health care conference last year, has surfaced in which he explained how the details of Obamacare were kept under wraps until the measure was rammed through the Democratic Congress with no opportunity for anyone to read the legislation. “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” Mr. Gruber said. “Call it the stupidity of the American voter, or whatever. But basically, that was really, really critical to getting the thing to pass.”

He's right, isn't he?

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) sought Thursday to distance herself and her caucus from Jonathan Gruber, the economist who has caused a stir with comments that seemed to suggest the federal health-care law was created in a deceptive way.

"I don't know who he is. He didn't help write our bill," she told reporters at her weekly briefing.

Although, here is a video from 2009, where she explicitly calls Gruber by name from his analysis (link)

Not only is the first sentence a lie (or just "misremembering"), according to a NY Times article from 2012, her second sentence might be a lie too:

---------------

Along with these credentials, Mr. Gruber’s position as an adviser to the influential Congressional Budget Office also left him perfectly positioned to advise the White House on health reform.

“The most important arbiter of everything was the C.B.O.,” said Neera Tanden, who was a senior adviser for health reform at the Department of Health and Human Services.

The C.B.O.’s assessment of a bill’s efficacy and costs strongly influences political debate, but the office does not publicly reveal how it calculates those numbers.

“We knew the numbers he gave us would be close to where the C.B.O. was likely to come out,” Ms. Tanden said. She was right.

After Mr. Gruber helped the administration put together the basic principles of the proposal, the White House lent him to Capitol Hill to help Congressional staff members draft the specifics of the legislation.

Helping Congressional staff members draft specifics of the legislation sounds a hell of a lot like helping them write the bill. But what do I know, I'm just a stupid American.

Sorry aces. I did a quick perusal of the board to see if it was already posted. And by perusal I mean I looked at the first couple of posts.

see what happens when you go with the dumb republican idea for healthcare

you get called stupid

The left still trying to use that as an out? Dem Congress, Dem Pres, bill was passed without Rep support. Whether or not it's a "Rep idea," the left owns it now.

“If you have a law that makes explicit that healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it wouldn’t have passed,”

Well that's a shame. Not only does he think Americans are stupid, but he thinks they're a bunch of selfish twats.

Not that I can really argue against that.

still denying it is a republican idea eh?

it was stupid for the dems to go with the republican idea

I don't live in (and had no plans of ever living in) Massachusetts. The Dems, and the Dems only, are the ones who brought this piece of **** to the rest of the country.

You got a love Goldy… He knows it is a disastrous law, and insists to blame republicans based on the Heritage Foundation back in 1993. It has nothing to do with the Dems ramming it through congress against Republican opposition. Kudos to him for staying the course.

This was a test. You guys really aren't stupid. You are actually quite smart. I think everyone on this board knows what Obama was up to. And I don't blame him for it. I get it really. It's just propaganda and I get it. McGoober or whatever his name is is just an incredibly supercilious asshole. The irony is that McGoober is stupid as crap for making these comments.
