Braves in on Yasmany Tomas

Why would we pay this no defense all power outfielder what he is asking when we already have Gattis for much cheaper. No thanks on Tomas.

Swing gave me a flashback to Vladimir Guerrero, gut reminds me of Livan. Give him his old jersey, and whatever we can afford. What a swing! And he can always go on a diet.

I'm hearing a lot of the same concerns that folks had about Abreu in this thread... I think that worked out okay for the White Sox

Agreed. Defense is obviously important the amount of weight its given to team construction is a little out of hand at this point. Sure, give me a stud at SS (check) and another at C (hopefully we will get this with CB) and finally in CF (meh). For hte rest of the positions GIVE ME HITTERS!

A year of Gattis in left will test that proposition.

Funny how all this news comes out after the JHey trade about us being in on people.........

Spin, spin, spin

It really isn't spin if the FO is actually meeting with people. I'd say it has nothing to do with spin, but exploring options now that we have more $ to spend.

The article states that he might accept a shot term deal. This is probably what the Braves and the Padres are in on. Would allow us to trade Gattis.

Tomas is growing tired of the “dog-and-pony show” and wants to sign as soon as he can but he is being urged by others to show patience, sources tell Yahoo’s Jeff Passan. The Phillies, Royals and Padres have shown the most interest in landing him, though the D’Backs and Mariners “lurk as possibilities,” and Atlanta is also in the mix. The Giants have seen Tomas four times, Passan adds.

He does have a phat ass (as does Justin Upton).

Nothing that Phil Falco can't tone up with some yoga and HIT, though.

At 24 you can rip that baby weight off in about 3 months.

Reminds me and looks just like Jose Guillen at the plate. If only he had his arm...

Joel Sherman said an executive from another club told him that Justin Upton will be moved which would free up a spot for Tomas (who I don't really know much about).
