Braves in on Yasmany Tomas

Joel Sherman said an executive from another club told him that Justin Upton will be moved which would free up a spot for Tomas (who I don't really know much about).

The rumored return is Taijuan Walker. Suddenly the Braves rotation would be:

Teheran (24)

Wood (24)

Walker (22)

Minor (27 old man!)

Miller (24)

Talk about a young and talented rotation...

And cheap, I think the total cost for all 5 would be like $10M this year.

Has that really been "rumored"? It seems more like it's been heavily speculated by posters on this board.

IIRC, DOB posted sometime yesterday that Walker 'wasn't off the table' in talks for Upton.

Here's the link to the MLBTR article, I'll let you decide for yourself:

Asking price for JUp is higher than Heyward. The M's are said to be the ones who want him most. The only 2 pitchers the M's have that are more valuable than Miller would be Walker or Paxton. Not exactly huge leaps of logic...

Funny how all this news comes out after the JHey trade about us being in on people.........

Spin, spin, spin

Well we had no money, now we do.

With JUp being out possibly as well, there's money/spots for Tomas.

I dont see us getting him but it makes sense.

That would be incredible. But I think we need to sign Tomas if we're trading Justin

I'm a little hesitant about Tomas myself mainly because of his defense but we now have the best international scouts of any team.

He's a fat pig. Then again, so is Cabrera.

We've got great scouts. And now we've got a few data points to compare him to.

I'm sure there were people who thought the sox shouldn't sign Abreu. Could bust, but we'll have to rely on our scouts.

Were you sure Cespedes, Puig or Abreu could hit?

honestly didn't pay much attention b/c braves were not in on it.

Braves are going to sink 100 million into this guy? He's going to replace upton and Heyward? We'll still have CB and Simmons and BJ in the same line up...
