Ferguson....

If you are a cop and someone is trying to reach for your gun and has already beaten you, at what point are you at your last resort?

Thats the point. There is no last resort. If this is not a situation where shooting someone isn't justifiable then there will never be a situation.

Probably after the 6th shot -- what a ridiculous question.

I dont know who or what happened / who or what is right or wrong. I have no knee jerk reaction
But I have watched enough TV and have known enough cops that any time a cop fires 12 shots at an un armed person the situation was not handled well

Has any one else noticed that just about to a poster those that supported George Zimmerman are supporting Cop Wilson ??

...and the only equipment Wilson had available in his cop arsenal was bullets ?

Like I said, I am not taking sides here I don't know what happened but ... if it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck it most likely is ------ a duck

I am an old man that grew up in a northeastern US city and have never heard of a case where a cop found him/herself in a situation to shoot an unarmed citizen 12 times.
Hell, that's Bonnie and Clyde - John Dillinger **** there

Again, what should Wilson have done?

Brown was 6-4 290

Here's the rub. I don't work with cops, but I do work with school paraprofessionals and assistants whose primary charge is to restrain emotionally unstable kids, some of whom are the same size as Brown. The paraprofessionals aren't carrying weapons, but somehow they manage to restrain students who are in the throes of an extreme emotional outburst. I realize this isn't apples-to-apples, but if a 200+ pound cop isn't trained well enough to physically restrain someone considerably larger than they are, something is missing to me.

you got google where you live -- ?

76pages into this thread and almost 2 months later and you ask a question like that?
look it up and tell me.

Get educated then pass it on

Well again, you are the one saying he should be trained in this and yet you have no suggestions as to what he is doing.

If you are going to make the claim that he should be trained in how to handle these situations and yet have no idea what that means then I question your motives.

Toma has told us he is an officer (or something close that). He said the way they are trained is similar to how Wilson handled the situation.

This may come as a surprise to you liberals but someone full of adrenaline can take flesh wounds and keep going. Only one shot was a kill shot.

The officer stopped shooting when Brown stopped charging him.

Cop shot an unarmed man 12 times.

Something wrong with that picture - I don't know if that is a crime or not - I am not privy to the info BUT that is some piss pour police work.

I would hope that those blindly giving Wilson the benefit of the doubt would at least recognize this guy was a lousy cop

and these kind of situation seem to find lousy cops

Wilson did not shoot Brown 12 times. There is so much ignorance in this thread. I kinda see what would cause a community to be so outraged. On this board we have people that have access to the testimony simply with a quick good search, but they don't read it. Despite this, they describe details of the case that are simply untrue. But they believe it. Imagine what the community in Ferguson thinks happened?

Brown was still rushing Wilson "Like a football player" after a couple of shots.

Brown also told the cop he was too much of a pussy to shoot him. I guess Brown believed he could assault the cop without shooting him?

People at the scene were telling witnesses to shut their mouths that were trying to tell the true account of what took place.

This whole thing has been a farce from the very beginning.

White people need to reflect on and genuinely try to understand why African Americans feel so marginalized and discriminated against and African Americans need to reflect on how they can change the image of the black community so that others aren't so quick to stereotype and ignore the very legitimate concerns about racism and systematic discrimination they face ESPECIALLY in the American (in)justice system.

Agreed. And looting Family Dollar stores and burning your own neighborhood down helps not one iota.
