Blacks are getting knocked down.?they're being kept down by liberal programs and attitudes like yours.

They're are plenty of successful blacks that have succeeded in life and don't acted like a victim. Granted most of those are conservatives because they understand how liberal programs are bad for blacks.

I have known people in my lifetime who's grandparents were slaves.
Not sure the ancestral family structure that lives in just goes away simply because some white guys say it should.
Slave --- means the same thing as I own hammers, screw drivers , wrenches and toilet plungers.
I personally wonder what it must be like to look at the world and see others who in a nuther time and place would own my relatives like they own toilet plungers,screw drivers and wrenches.

Oh yeah, black people were brought to this continent in the 17th century I rish began appearing 19th century. In the 1920's while Jim Crow was still the way of the world an Irishman ran for POTUS. Jim Crow being the way of the world until the 1960's, we in 1960 electedan Irish Catholic POTUS.

Trying to remember the exact situations where Seperate but Equal applied to Irish, Italians or other Eiropean immigrants

the original police report was intentionally left vague so once the evidence started to come in the blanks could be filled in accordingly.

Michael Brown was left in the street for over 4 hours. This was after the investigators had left and kids started coming home from school. Michael Brown and the yellow police tape - that is what these kids saw. And some y'all can't understand why young inner city youth have no respect and nothing but contempt for police

There are plenty of immigrants that come to this country with nothing and make something for themselves. There are plenty of blacks who study hard and better themselves and get out of the inner city. So how can that excuse still be valid?

I understand the needs for social programs but at the same time it has a negative effect. So it's an endless circle.

Jews have been discriminated against far longer than blacks. If anything, the Jewish people could make a far greater argument why they should be behind the 8-ball but they aren't. Jews are probably more successful than the average as well. Not even sure the relevance of the point you were trying to make.

Not quite sure your comparison. I am in no way a Bibical scholar but from my Sunday Schools of long long ago the last time the Jews as a race (?) were enslaved was the Pharaohs - Moses ??? My dates might not be right but there is a great deal of difference between discriminated and enslaved.

Perhaps thethe a refresher on Reconstruction , Jim Crow and the circumstances of the Civil Rights battles of the 20th Century.

Did you know the Washington Redskins did not have a black player until the early 60's ? Do you know why ?
The Boston Red Sox not a black player until the late 50's ?? Do you know why ?
The list of Jewish players could fill this forum

The NY Yankees until the mid 50's. Casey Stengal reportedly said , "when we finally get one and he is the slow one" (Elston Howard)

I'm not debating the merits of your argument whereby Blacks have been unfairly persecuted for hundreds of years. I just find it odd you would throw in a comment about the Jews complaining about an event where they were executed by the millions.

I wasn't talking about Jews. I was comparing Holocaust Deniers with people who say blacks should get over slavery.

Personally,
If I were Jewish I'd look askew at anyone driving a BMW or Mercedes.

I'm not sure why...not many people associated with the Holocaust are still alive today in Germany. Previous generations make huge mistakes. I'm not sure why I should hate a German youth today for what his ancestors did to my grandfather.

My reading tells me there are pockets in Europe experiencing a rejuvenated National Socialist bend.
simply because Jewish are told by German elders they should just get over the holocaust. After all, all those people are gone now --- but, the ideas never die.

Look at the last economic meltdown and the vilification of the unions since the 1980's. What history tells me is the source of that vilification is a desire-want and return to unregulated or free labor. Which ever serves the powerfull's needs better
