It is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard.

As far as your last 2 paragraphs, 1. that's a stupid and moronic comparison. Aside from bull**** theories with no real backing is there any real evidence that welfare keeps black people down, except that you buy into the "news' of fox news. And most rich black people aren't conservatives, I'm pretty sure if you tracked most rich black people you'd find the same thing when tracking rich white people, they're all over the polical spectrum. If there were so many rich black conservatives, why are the only black prominent republicans Michael Steele and Herman Cain? Here's a fact for you, there are 2 black billionaires in the US, Michael Jordan and Oprah. Both have financially supported Democrats, Oprah publically supported Obama and has very general liberal leanings.

Yep. That's why this thread is 85 pages long. The leftists here have come up with every conspiracy theory/misdirection under the sun in order to distract from the truth of the matter. When that didn't work the old, tired "you're a racist" canard began to be thrown around.

The truth of the matter is an unarmed civilian was killed by a cop. Who claimed one more punch may have knocked him out but only had a few red patches on his face, not even terribly swollen. Who claimed this man was hulk hogan but was able pull his gun up despite a leverage disadvantage. There's all kinds of questionable stuff going on here and the rightists here want to sweep it under a rug cause a cop just killed a "thug" and a "thug" deserves to die. Might as well just call black people insurgents make em even easier to justify killing.

The truth of the matter is this kid robbed a convenience store and assaulted a cop. He is the reason that he is dead.

Your solution is "they need to try harder" ignoring th emuch larger socioeconomic issues. Even if we pretend there's no prejudice in the system (which you'd be an idiot if you thought that) we wouldn't see a higher success rate cause a kid who does well in a****ty school doesn't look as good as a kid who does well in a tough school. Then you get into the real world part where people will consider if someone looks the part of a job they want. Would you hire Michael Brown to be your customer service rep? My guess is you wouldn't.

Oh so he pulled the trigger. You can't absolve a cop cause he got punched in the face. Assuming the **** the cop said happened, I'm fine with half of what he did, it's the events that happened outside the car that I have issues with. BUt I find inconsistencies wit hhis report in his car.

If anyone showed up to an interview in a suit and tie, spoke in a professional manner and had the appropriate eductation background I absolutely would hire that person.

My solution is not just trying harder. My solution is for the black community to look in the mirror and realize that the only thing they should focus on is the things they can control. I have never ran away from the fact that there is still inherent racism in this country. But, to focus on this is a losing effort. The only thing worth focusing on is making yourself better today than you were yesterday.
 
It's not just racism is the thing. It's not some white got sitting on his porch drinking shine calling people the N word. Seriously you're not grasping the scope of what we're dealing with. We're dealing with people who grew up in a totally different world than us. Even blacks who speak well have to fight an uphill battle whites don't. And then you run into the thing I posted early about the magical negro.
