Playing the Waiting Game
Other than 2012 where he got hit in the hand, he's been as durable as it gets, stop.
I meant as a defender. He's not a very good RF.

Take it FWIW.

Braves sign RF, pushing out Justin Upton. Mariners trade RF for SP, pushing out Taijuan Walker. These two things seem related.
Some would question whether Markakis can indeed handle RF.
The thing about that is: Only one person needs to think he can... John Hart.
That doesn't make it true.

My point is that it's not our opinion -or the so called "experts"- that matters.
It's not an opinion. It's a fact. Markakis being able to play RF is an opinion. A really uninformed opinion.
Actually makes sense
So let me get this straight...
Let's trade 2/3 of our best players and replace them with significantly worse players.
People call that a good plan? WTF?
I'd take Walker, let Minor rebuild his value, then trade Minor for an OF. If we brought in Walker what we'd see is 2 long term pitchers in Julio and Walker, 2 shroter term pitchers in Miller and Wood, and the disposable minor. If you wanted to think classically, Julio and Walker would be Smoltz and Glavine, Miller and Wood would be Avery and Smith, and Minor would be Tito errr I mean Leibrandt.
Not that Minor is close to that equivalency, but given his age, cost, and closeness to FA, he'll be the first on the chopping block.
So you don't think Sims is good and/or close?
Get Walker, get Miller, get some low-minors lottery ticket. If we simply MUST trade Justin Upton, that's a perfectly reasonable return for one year of him.
seems like national writers are saying 6 yrs of walker is too much to give up for 1 year of Jup
