GM/Winter Meetings Thread

The Royals have signed Kendrys Morales to a two-year, $17 million contract, which strikes me as just staggeringly stupid when you've already declined Billy Butler's $12 million option.

It was refreshing to hear Dayton Moore say in an interview on MLB Network last night that he regretted letting Butler go, admitted to having misread the market a bit.

It's a great statement and he's completely right but I want to see at least a little bit of urgency. If he's TRULY alright with letting Justin go and only getting the pick, then I want him fired immediately. It's about decisions. If he truly thinks we will be able to keep JUP, then I'm fine with this whole thing. If not, then you're not smart, good sir.

Bowman has indicated he has reason to believe that something is done within two weeks on Upton or Gattis

Depending on the prospects, probably a good move by the Rangers. They get a decent starter for cheap; albeit maybe only 1 year.

I'd be fine with it either way. I just would like something to happen. I've been in the minority here, but I've liked what we've done this offseason... that being said, the Marlins have done that much more.

About 6M/projected win. Except for Lester that has been the going rate for pitchers.

For FA hitters it has been closer to 9M/win.

Last off-season pitchers were getting paid more. There has been a big change this year.

Don't like the delivery but the guy appears to have a sneaky fastball and good breaking stuff...with a little refinement mechanically along with say an uptick in velocity coming back from TJ this guy could potentially be a steal. Let's hope so, but as of right now I like it!
