Farewell to Wood, Peraza, Jimmy Johns, and Avilans.

Are we waiting for dodgers game to be over so they can name a player on the MLB roster in the trade?

Where are you guys seeing Paco Rodriguez will be included?

Interesting they are not talking about this AT ALL on MLB network

Man. Just saw the video of Wilmer Flores on the field in tears while the they are getting stomped in the 8th. The Mets dropped the ball on this one.

Only the Mets could screw up one of the better trades they've made in a while. Can't believe someone in the front office didn't force him out of the lineup. Shame on Collins, but come on Mets' front office.

You have to judge the trades as they happen. You are essentially saying its a good deal bc Im positicenwe are getting impact bat and the piece we are giving up will suck and get hurt.

What if Wood turns into Hanson? What if he turns into Kershaw?

Lets make those two bets and I feel comfortable I at worst push.

Wood could blow out his arm, Jim Johnson could slip on a banana peel on his way out of the hotel tomorrow and break his ankle, and Peraza could get hit by a comet. Braves are playing it safe

Exactly. This is some crazy **** to argue the way we collect TJS pitchers.

You're not getting it. You can't play crystal ball with trades and then change a player's current value based on that. If the Braves think Wood will be injured, then go get his current value for him and when he does get injured, you ended up with a great deal.

Don't go get lesser value for him because you've decided he will be worth less down the road.

If Touki never makes it, we gave up $10 million for nothing. Bad deal. But that's not how deals are made. The $10 million is worth the possibility of him making it. Olivera is not worth the possibility that Wood doesn't get hurt and Peraza turns into a good SS.

If the Braves think he is going to be injurred you better believe that other front offices believe the same thing.

Yea no kidding. Very unprofessional and just bad bad business.

When we drafted Wood, he had already had his first TJ! So now we allow that to greatly reduce his value in a trade.

If this deal goes through as reported, I have lost a great deal of faith in this FO.

It's right up there with Bobby Valentine in disguise.

That's dumb. Pitchers get injured all the time, over half of pitchers have a 'worrisome delivery'. If the Dodgers thought he'd be Hanson soon, they wouldn't give up anything for him.

I don't like this trade. Hector Olivera may end up being a high impact bat, and the Braves were obviously VERY high on him as they offered him $40 million in the off season. However, he's 29 years old, so if he is an impact bat, it won't be for very long. You just traded a 24 year old starting pitcher who has posted a 3.18 FIP since the end of the 2013 season and has 4.7 combined WAR from 2014 and 2015. The biggest piece the Braves get in the deal is a 29 year old who has all of 86 at bats in minor league ball this year?

Or maybe they would give up less than the typical fan would believe they should give up for a pitcher who has performed as well as Wood.
