I'm improving my game. I play once a week for the last few months. It's hard separating my tennis instincts to golf.
Haven't read the article or seen the video, but apparently the American player thought her putt had been conceded and picked it up. Evidently no one conceded her putt, so the penalty was right. I would've done the same thing. The outrage might come from the fact that with so much putt conceding in team events, some might start taking all short putts for granted. It's a huge mistake to expect your putt will be given to you, especially if you're in the lead. The American player should've clearly asked if the putt was good. Can someone explain to me this big outrage that took place at the woman's gold event this weekend? DAilymail paints this women as a villain and that did something unsportsmanlike.

Usually it's the player in the lead who does most of the putt conceding. The trailing player or team is certainly under no obligation by rule or courtesy to concede any putts, ever, nor should they be.
They are girls - they cry. Besides, she didn't say that.Gotcha. Supposedly the villains own teammates started to break down crying saying it was a dick move
Gotcha. Supposedly the villains own teammates started to break down crying saying it was a dick move
There are no gimmes in pro golf.
Huh? In match play you concede short putts. And peterson likely did concede it.
I think you likely weren't there and don't know if she conceded it or not. Look, even if Peterson, a professional golfer who's been playing organized golf with basically the same players day in and day out for a decade, did trick Lee into picking up her putt, which nobody is saying she did, it was still Lee's fault for letting it happen.Huh? Maybe I'm a sexist for saying it, but women golfers are like this. I was an assistant pro at a club for a couple summers and playing with the women on ladies day was one of my jobs. It was always something. They get nitpicky with the rules and upset easily. She must be a hellacious girlfriend/wife.

If Peterson really is such a "dick player" with a Machiavellian reputation, Lee should've known that and not taken anything for granted. There isn't one scenario where Lee didn't screw up by not making sure the putt was conceded.
