Still Playing the Waiting Game
Oh, I don't put a lot of stock in what he says. I have made the same post as you just did about him in the past (last year for example you'll find posts by me saying the same). But it is pretty well known the Braves have shopped Teheran multiple times over the last few years. The talks with the Cubs being probably the most confirmed but other GM's have been admitting to such talks going back two years now just as Gammons said. And that is what I am going by more, confirmed talks, not so much Gammons stating what I assumed we already knew. Further, I don't think the FO is as high on Teheran as some of us here are and I am not confident his better pitching of late will change that. This is partly why I am expecting us to trade him one way or another. But I hope Coppy and co. play hardball if so and get A LOT back that actually helps the MLB team. I just wouldn't bet on it to be honest because I believe our FO underrates him same as they did Wood. They had velocity issues with Wood too (remember we're all about velocity nowadays, lol).
I wonder if they have shopped him or just listened as other teams made offers. (you gotta listen on anyone) This is what gets things confused, three writer will describe the same phone conversation between GM's as "an offer" , "shopping", or "listening on" it can make the intentions of the front office hard to figure out.
