Maybe so, but it seems to me that there are more mainstream sources that provide a greater degree of context and objectivity, and those aren't the ones that get picked up by American media outlets with an anti-immigrant editorial viewpoint. So maybe a wider audit of the media spectrum would benefit all of us.

Wide range of viewpoints is always essential in any debate. I never reject another view I may disagree but always welcome it. I think there is enough historical evidence to support that Muslims do not assimilate well. This doesn't mean all but it's hard to construct an argument that a large Muslim migrant population is ever good for a western society.

i'm just curious how you can act like your statement is true if you haven't gone there yourself. The middle east is a very interesting place and each country is different there.

thus, why i think and willing to bet large you have never been there to experience anything about any of the countries or cultures to sit here and call other places ****holes.

i think strip malls in the suburbs are ****holes with awful people in em. democracy or any other political system has no bearing on why i think that is a ****hole

Because modern nations value democracy and the rights of their citizens. Any country that doesn't isn't worth taking seriously. Culture? A large amount of the Middle East is either at war or living under a theocracy. Do you want me tell you the way they treat women or have little girls marrying men old enough to be their grandfather? Why do you think these people are leaving the Middle East nations in droves? Because it is a ****hole over there.
