Trump blasts Syria.

The "deep state" doesn't have the final say. Trump does. This is a repeat of the Yemen raid in January. Trump approved that action, and this one, because people around him suggested that he'd look tougher than Obama if he did it. It's a character flaw, not a conspiracy.

Seems like every president for yhe last 30 years does the same thing. Something else at play.

This air strike seems pretty measured. I don't really get all the drama. Seems like a perfect response. I guess we need to wait and see what happens, but I really don't see the Russians getting too upset by this response and it certainly neuters Assad a bit.

I deeply hope that this helps those innocent victims in Syria, but I am horribly disappointed how little this was thought out and terrified of the ultimate ramifications.

This was always the real fear of a Trump administration.

Syrian news is already reporting causalities...

but their not white so no big deal. We're the good guys

I'm still trying to grasp the idea of Assad doing this. its just not adding up. The chem weapon attack is the type of thing you do if the enemy is on your chest and you're throwing a Hail Mary from end zone to end zone.

This, at the very least, doesn't appear to be a full-blown intervention; and Syria's action did warrant some type of response. I'm not concerned that we just opened another Iraq situation.

I'm more concerned about Trump's unpredictability. I don't trust him for a second to deal with these type of global situation with a measured response. God forbid a major terrorist attack happens on our soil.

The simple answer is that Assad wanted to test Trump after Obama let him get away with it. I also though want more info before I automatically assume Assad did this.

The fact that he's done such a 180 so quickly is really concerning. He seems like he's exceptionally easy to persuade, and I think this coincides with Kushner's trip to Iran where the defense team got his ear.

To me, this can shows that Trump can be easily manipulated, and in my opinion could invite the CIA to perform false flags in order to push an agenda

It makes no sense at all, especially just days after Trump got off his back. He had to have known that a chemical attack would lead to a big problem, and I don't think he's that stupid.

What makes more sense is Trump needs a bump in his approval numbers and there is no easier way

Thats the thing. I wanted more info as well. The quick turnaround for Trump's actions are what makes me nervous.

I get tired of people disregarding the loss of life our actions cause

But the whole strategy of this move was to prevent more loss of life by reigning in Assad. I get questioning the true motive and the legitimacy of the chemical attack itself, but bringing in racial strawmen is kind of a bitch move.

Saying the strikes aren't a big deal when they kill people is a bitch move.

If another country did it to us we'd already have invaded

Another strawman. I never said it wasn't a big deal. Of course it's a big deal, but it doesn't mean it was the wrong decision. Stick with my actual arguments please.

It was done at night to limit casualties. This strike was to make the Air Force base inoperable.
