The "deep state" doesn't have the final say. Trump does. This is a repeat of the Yemen raid in January. Trump approved that action, and this one, because people around him suggested that he'd look tougher than Obama if he did it. It's a character flaw, not a conspiracy.
Yeah, she's the gift that keeps on giving.
This air strike seems pretty measured. I don't really get all the drama. Seems like a perfect response. I guess we need to wait and see what happens, but I really don't see the Russians getting too upset by this response and it certainly neuters Assad a bit.
but their not white so no big deal. We're the good guys
That was a goldfly level strawman on your part.
I'm still trying to grasp the idea of Assad doing this. its just not adding up. The chem weapon attack is the type of thing you do if the enemy is on your chest and you're throwing a Hail Mary from end zone to end zone.
This, at the very least, doesn't appear to be a full-blown intervention; and Syria's action did warrant some type of response. I'm not concerned that we just opened another Iraq situation.
I'm more concerned about Trump's unpredictability. I don't trust him for a second to deal with these type of global situation with a measured response. God forbid a major terrorist attack happens on our soil.

The simple answer is that Assad wanted to test Trump after Obama let him get away with it. I also though want more info before I automatically assume Assad did this.
I get tired of people disregarding the loss of life our actions cause
But the whole strategy of this move was to prevent more loss of life by reigning in Assad. I get questioning the true motive and the legitimacy of the chemical attack itself, but bringing in racial strawmen is kind of a bitch move.
Saying the strikes aren't a big deal when they kill people is a bitch move.
If another country did it to us we'd already have invaded
I deeply hope that this helps those innocent victims in Syria, but I am horribly disappointed how little this was thought out and terrified of the ultimate ramifications.
This was always the real fear of a Trump administration.
