The difference is we have a bigger sample size for Hasley, Longerhans just reported watching him in a tournament and that he looked 'great' in CF.

So we know Hasley can play out there, probably better than Lewis, has a similar hit tool and has performed against better competition i.e. he's safer and I don't think there's a big difference in upside.

I mean Longerhans has Lewis #5 and Hasley at #7 so we are both in the same ballpark here. I just look at the toolset for Lewis and it's not very exciting IMO, if he's not going to hit for much power or play great defense, why take a similar guy with more polish in haseley?

If they go prep bat I'd much rather swing on upside with Beck/Addell

The people who love Lewis always say he has a chance to develop power and has a phenomenal makeup to go with good tools.

Because Haseley is already 21 years old in college, and Lewis is 18 and in HS. When Lewis is 21 he should be better in every single category than Haseley is now.

If the Braves don't come away with one of Gore, Lewis, Beck or Adell it means they didn't go BPA in hopes of signing the #5 pick cheaply enough to go over slot at #41. I really hope that doesn't happen.

I don't think beck or adell make most top fives right now.

That BA list seals it for me: I want Adell.

Over Gore?

Gore is my realistic #1 choice.

If he's not there I want Haseley or Lewis is if he has a chance to develop power.

Just from reading snippets, but I'd avoid Adell/Beck. Seems like more risk than usual for a top-5 pick.

My personal top 10 would be:

1. Wright
2. Gore
3. Greene
4. Adell
5. Beck
6. Lewis
7. Haseley
8. Bukauskas
9. Baz
10. McKay

How close to Benintendi does Hasley compare? Maybe better OBP skills? About the same power? Defensively can stick anywhere?

I'm not very high on McKay either. I hope he's gone when we pick so we aren't tempted. My top 7 would be.

Wright
Green
Gore
Lewis
Hasley
Beck
Adell

Similar player with somewhat lesser tools across the board, is basically what I've read. Not quite the hitter without quite the power of Benintendi. Not quite the speed, etc. So, a poor man's Benintendi.

Fwiw, I think they both qualify as late bloomers. A lot of folks speaking to Haseley's tools still developing most notably the power.

And Adell HM for both best power and strongest arm.

And Lewis for fastest runner as well....

I look at it like this, build the prospect around the hit tool, nothing else really matters if he can't hit.

The biggest, fastest, strongest OF prospect that can't hit is at best a 4th OF. The guy who can hit, especially if his other tools are solid/good, he's the guy I want. In a perfect world you get someone who can do all of it, but that's not happening in this draft.

Longenhan or whatever his name is, has 55 on Haseley in CF, and 55 hit tool. Believes he will hit for avg.

Mentioned Baz has better spin rates than Ian Anderson, Groome, etc...

Baz's scouting report is really strong when you look at the write ups and the grades.

Pipeline has a
65 fastball, 60 cutter, 60 curve, 55 slider, 50 changeup, 50 control.

Most lists seems to have him around 10th on the big board, but if those grades are somewhat legit, I could see him going higher.

Stop making up alternative facts he isn't BpA

Jk...
Rumor is tough sign.

Could also play 3b I think I remember seeing
