Kemp and the Quest for 1 bWAR

Kemp has a 851 OPS since May 1st. His OPS+ for the year is down to 136 and his bWAR is down to 0.4

He's going to need to pick it back up.

I give up following this. Yesterday he was 0.7. I assume it was a defensive update. How often is defense updated bc he didn't cost us 0.3 this week?

ETA -- when calculating WAR, if it comes out to 0.75 is that 0.8 or 0.7?

I think it's like every 2 weeks but I'm not really sure how often defense updates. DRS, which is what baseball-ref uses, does update more often than UZR though. With that said he did go 0-5 yesterday which likely took him down 0.1. And it looks like base running data got updated too which Kemp does himself no favors in.

And I'm pretty sure it would round up but baseball-ref seems to only use whole numbers in their calculations.

edit: Kemp is only -6 runs on defense right now. He was -5 before the update. So it's more than just that.

It went up from 0.5 wed to 0.7 yesterday. Now down to 0.4. This constant fluctuation is crazy. I'm gonna start checking every 2 weeks haha

I have already explained this. Until FF is back in the lineup for KEMvP to protect, he will not produce. He is like a parent who lost his child in the mall.. just wondering around aimlessly without getting anything done. And now that KEMvP and FF are close to each other on the field, his dWAR will start to climb as well.
