The Trump Presidency

Preying on those that never learned if it is too good to be true ... unless you see fit to side with the hunter over the hunted

I think that's part of it. Personal accountability is also a factor (and, unfortunately, that can't be legislated).

yeah, buyer beware.

Had that issue with a new just out of warranty washing machine a week or so ago.

That doesn't excuse Amana makes a ****ty product

It isn't only Amana. There's like two companies making every appliance now, and just slapping different brand stickers on them.

I heard an old man call into a home improvement radio show because his 60 year old stove and water heater finally needed to be replaced in the house he grew up in, and he wanted an expert opinion on what modern brand would last that long. The hosts laughed at him and said he'll be lucky to get more than 10 years out of anything he buys.

Someone needs to Make Appliances Great Again!

So the talking points for the meeting Don Jr, Kushner, and Manafort (the russian agent in trump's campaign at the time) were shared with the Kremlin by the lawyer who attended. So, another trump team lie. They've lied about every single detail about that meeting.

As far as the public knows, the account of that meeting depends entirely on the subsequent accounts of people who have already lied about it repeatedly.

I don't know why that isn't more of a big deal.

which = capitalism

(imo)

Yes: capitalism is a refusal to learn what's too good to be true (or just or sustainable), under the false pretense of "personal accountability". I'm so happy to have you with me.

Companies don't want their products to last 60 years. They purposefully build products to break down after a certain time, after warranty.

Planned obsolescence. We've mostly just accepted this fun benefit of globalized capitalism, so there's no reason to feature a bored Maytag man (or a long-lasting product) anymore.

Official White House Position: All the Women Who Accused Trump of Harassment Are Lying

I guess they really have no other choice but if you need more evidence that Trump is a lying piece of **** with no honor or morals, here it is.

It's a painfully interesting thought-project to imagine the sort of mentally self-immolating fortitude it requires to believe both that (a) Harvey Weinstein is a synecdoche for "The Left's" great hypocrisy, alongside the (totally spurious) notion that (b) Trump is a good dude, a great Christian only investigated by the IRS because of his deep faith, who's been falsely and unfairly accused of sexual harassment by scores of (obviously perfidious) women.

We could do great things together.
