Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

I think the issue raised about what McCabe is quoted as saying is a legitimate one...but I would like to know more.

Also I think Page appears to be a peripheral figure in the whole Russian interference matter...maybe I'm wrong about this...but it seems to me that nothing in the memo undermines the grounds for Mueller's investigation...i see no beef...i see no stringy horsemeat...at most some very thin gruel

what I do see is a panicky attempt to discredit a legitimate investigation

Did they or did they not use illegitimate support to gain a FISA warrant? Was the court aware of the sources of said support?

And ultimately what is trying to be proved? Collusion. If this led to actual findings of collusion then I would agree as I believe the crime is more important then the process to prove the crime. However, we have found no evidence of collusion so now the focus is obstruction. And what is being obstructed here? A falsified claim? That is where I draw the line and why these process details are of so much importance.

If Mueller comes out tomorrow with a smoking gun on collusion then we are in a difference universe. That has not happened and I'm going to assume that at this point it will not happen.

I'm more interested in seeing all of the FISA requests and surveillances obtained than I am in any transcript.

within the story

Page: Have a meeting with turgal about getting iphone in a day or so

Strzok: Oh hot damn. . . We get around our security/monitoring issues?

Page: No, he’s proposing that we just stop following them. Apparently the requirement to capture texts came from [Office of Management and Budget], but we’re the only org (I’m told) who is following that rule. His point is, if no one else is doing it why should we. . . I’m told – thought I have seen – that there is an IG report that says everyone is failing. But one has changed anything, so why not just join in the failure.

Yes, it will be very interesting to find out what information was presented, at what time and under what pretenses.

NYT: Mr. Steele took detailed notes of his conversation with the F.B.I. on Oct. 1, 2016. A person familiar with the notes says that they contain no evidence that the discussion addressed whether he was also talking to the news media.

lol.

So, let me get this straight, the credibility of the memo now hinges entirely on McCabe's testimony in December?

Speaking of meat.

Uh that's certainly a component. There are plenty of other falsehoods, mischaracterizations and omissions that would provide more context.

So we're at:

1 - McCabe's comments about the dossier were taken out of context
2 - The dossier was not the impetus for the investigation
3 - ???

OMG! The police ran a red light on the way to a crime scene.

actually Mueller is investigating Russian inteference...of which collusion is a possible subset...in that context I think there were good grounds for keeping tabs on Page

"The language used here on Mr. Steele’s relationship with the F.B.I. suggests that it was formal. But he never entered into any formal relationship from which he could be suspended or terminated, according to people familiar with their interactions."

lol
