For the most part, I love it here (of course, I've lived here all my life). Winter has gotten harder to deal with as I've aged, but the plusses still outweigh the minuses for me.

I've never lived in the rust belt, but I would probably prefer there over Mississippi simply because of the weather. I am a VERY hot natured person so the weather down here doesn't agree with me at all. I love cold weather. I lived in Anchorage for a year and it was like heaven to me lol.
