GDT: Braves @ Reds 4/26 (No Camargo)

It's called trolling that some people take way too seriously. Wren got trashed on an almost daily basis after he was fired (bravesitis) and I personally find it amusing that a) our two best players going forward were acquired with him in charge and b) the people who replaced him were much worse (imo)

The people who replaced him broght back people who actually knew how to scout. Big postiive.

That's one positive. Big negatives? Horrible use of existing talent in the rebuild. Not being able to properly evaluate major league talent. Get caught in the biggest international signing scandal to date and getting permanently banned from baseball.

uh, yeah, no.
he prob shouldve traded some of them before their arms fell off. but when you only have like 4 pitchers and can't draft them well you gotta hold them all.

I didn’t realize pitchers were the only ones considered prospects.

I can say with 100% certainty Wren would have viewed Peraza as our answer at SS and never would have attempted to acquire Dansby. Game. Set. Match.

Actually we would still have Simmons and would celebrate in 15-20 years when the greatest defensive SS ever goes into the HOF with an A on his cap.

He would have put winners on the field like he did before. Something Coppy could only dream about.

Hang on now. The whole reason he had to go is because we were no longer winning and had no resources (due to his sucky contracts) and no minor league talent waiting to bolster the team. His run was clearly over.

So a guy who build the youngest and winningest team over a 5 year stretch has one bad year and is his run is over with no chance to regroup? Makes sense.

Coppy didn't put winners on the field because Wren destroyed the organization.

Wait. What.

You can’t say coppy did this because wren did that. Two completely separate cases. Wren left a ****ty farm because he had to win. Do you think AA is going to maintain a top 5 farm in the next three years. Especially with how coppy left the international fiasco.

Coppy built a great farm because he had a crap ton of talent coming up and a crap ton of talent to trade and a crap ton of high draft picks. Coppy disgraced this organization and any defense of him should be laughed at. He will always be the absolute worse GM in history.

Any good organization doesn't allow draft picks to be driven by the GM who is not involved in amateur scouting. They are too concerned with the major league club.

Are you seriously suggesting the GM has no active role in the primary mechanism teams acquire talent?

That's dense...even for you.
